We currently have an exciting career opportunity for Robotic Process Automation Developer within the Digital Lab Department. The position holder will report to the Head of Robotic Process Automation and will be based at Head Office in Nairobi.

Role Purpose

The role holder will work cross–functionally with business operations, business analysts and other stakeholders to create and optimize workflow processes. The role holder will also lead initiatives related to designing and managing workflow automation projects, testing and bug fixing.

Main Responsibilities

1. Provide guidance with process design.
2. Design, develop, and test automation workflows.
3. Deploy RPA components including bots, robots, development tools, code repositories and logging tools.
4. Support the launch and implementation of RPA solutions.
5. Create process and end–user documentation.
6. Assure the quality of the automation (QA processes).
7. Work with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, QA Analysts, Product Owners, and other cross–functional resources to define and deliver business impacting projects.
8. Work directly with stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into technical approaches and designs that can be implemented.
9. Collaborate with development team members to ensure proper implementation and integration of the solutions.
10. Support deployments or troubleshoot production issues outside of working hours and participate in an on–call rotation as–needed.
11. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or any other relevant field
2. Relevant professional qualification
3. Knowledge of modern RPA technologies such as UiPath and Automation Anywhere
4. Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
5. UiPath RPA Developer certifications preferred.
6. Basic programming knowledge on HTML, JavaScript (or any scripting language).

Relevant Experience

1. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a software development role.
2. Experience in architecting and developing workflow–based solutions.
3. Experience with web development technologies.
4. Hands on experience with RPA tools and cognitive platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, etc. UiPath experience is highly preferred.
5. 2 or more years’ experience in any of the programming languages like C/C++, Python, VB Script, PHP, Ruby, Java JS, .Net.
6. Experience developing and consuming APIs.
7. Experience with Agile development methodology.
8. Experience with Databases (SQL or NoSQL) often preferred.
