    Sales Manager (FMCG)

    Our client a leading manufacturer of tomato sauce products is seeking a driven and experienced Sales Manager to lead and grow our sales efforts in the general trade segment within Kenya. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FMCG, with a successful track record in general trade channels (wholesalers and distributors.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow the tomato sauce product portfolio across general trade channels.
    • Identify and onboard new distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
    • Strengthen relationships with existing trade partners and ensure high availability and visibility of products.
    • Lead, coach, and monitor the field sales team to meet targets and grow market share.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategy.
    • Oversee pricing, discounts, and promotional strategies in line with the company’s commercial objectives.
    • Collaborate with marketing and production teams to align demand and supply.
    • Provide regular sales performance reports and actionable insights to management.
    • Explore and support entry into regional export markets and manage relationships with cross-border distributors (as applicable).

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in FMCG, specifically food products.
    • Proven experience and results in general trade sales.
    • Familiarity with Kenya’s trade dynamics and regional export requirements is an advantage.
    • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage field teams and work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and sales reporting tools.
