Senior Operations Manager at Powervision Consultancy

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and optimise operational processes covering client onboarding, transaction processing, trade support, settlement, custody coordination, records management and exception resolution.
• Establish and maintain strong operational controls, including maker-checker approvals, transaction and cash reconciliations, incident reporting and escalation procedures.
• Oversee relationships and service standards with custodians, settlement agents, banks, technology providers and other key service providers.
• Support the selection and implementation of operational systems, data controls, management dashboards, information-security processes and business continuity arrangements.
• Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, service levels and clear segregation of duties across Front Office, Operations, Finance, Risk and Compliance.
• Recruit, develop and manage the Operations team, setting measurable performance standards and driving continuous improvement.
• Support the CEO with operational budgets, capacity planning, cost management and management/board reporting.
• Coordinate operational input into licensing processes, audits and regulatory reviews, and track implementation of agreed remedial actions.
• Identify operational, process and conduct risks, escalate material incidents promptly and drive corrective action.
• Maintain appropriate oversight and documented controls over outsourced operational activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIFA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• 5–8 years’ relevant experience, preferably within investment banking, banking, capital markets or another regulated financial-services environment.
• Practical experience working within CMA and/or CBK regulatory frameworks.
• Strong understanding of financial-services operations, internal controls, risk management and governance.
• Proven experience managing teams, operational processes and business improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical, organisational, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and ability to operate effectively within a regulated environment.
