Senior Systems and Support Engineer at Poa Internet

Role Responsibilities:                                                           

• Manage and administer Windows/Linux servers, databases, and core applications.
• Monitor and maintain the health of all core systems, servers and applications.
• Respond to and resolve escalations during assigned shifts.
• Support with network/system outages escalations to service providers and tracking of updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents affecting service availability or performance.
• Coordinate resolution efforts with internal software developers, network engineers, and external vendors.
• Recommend and implement improvements to increase system performance, resilience, and efficiency.
• Participate in the evaluation and rollout of new tools, systems, or upgrades.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in troubleshooting and best practices.

Academic Qualifications:

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Telecommunication, or related discipline.

Key Competencies required for the role:

• Experience as a Senior and Network Administrator with at least 5 years experience.
• At least 2-3 years experience in Software development preferably in PHP framework.
• Linux / UNIX administration.
• Database Administration (MySQL,SQLite, Postgres).
• Experience in developing under the following languages and frameworks: PHP, Drupal, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Wordpress, Twig, REST and JSON.
• Advanced networking (firewalls, routers, IP management).
