    UX/UI Designer

    Job Purpose Statement

    The UX/UI Designer at LOOP DFS is responsible for creating intuitive user interactions and visually appealing interfaces for mobile and web applications to ensure a seamless user experience.

    The role requires collaborating with product managers, user researchers and software developers to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals and experience. Using UX/UI design principles, the designer will be responsible for conceptualizing original ideas that bring simplicity to complex user interactions ensuring ease of use, executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to software developers.

    Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

    UI Design 60%

    • Design all the screens that make up a digital user interface that users will interact with, including layouts – visual patterns and hierarchies that make for an intuitive user experience, for web and mobile applications
    • Design the UI elements featured on the screens such as buttons, icons, sliders, forms, scrollbars and other custom features
    • Using comprehensive understanding of colour theory, colour harmony, iconography, typography theory and typesetting in designing the interactivity of each UI element
    • Establishing and maintaining a UI style guide (design system) to be used throughout the application, ensuring consistency and familiarity for the user
    • Collaborating with software developers on solutions and design handovers.

    Prototyping 30%

    • Showcase visual designs in action to demonstrate suitable user interaction and make design improvements through prototyping
    • Develop Low fidelity wireframe, clickable prototypes and high-fidelity prototypes of the target application to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas before development
    • Conduct user research and analysis to understand how users might expect the product to look and behave based on their experience with similar products
    • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
    • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
    • Handing designs off to developers

    Learning & Growth 10%

    • Increase knowledge base, keep up with the emerging trends and best practice in UX Design field, and conduct knowledge sharing sessions.

    Job Specifications

    Academic

    • BSc. in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design or related 

    Professional

    • Certification in UX/UI Design

    Desired work experience

    • Proven UI experience
    • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
    • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
    • Solid knowledge and experience of Figma, Adobe XD, InVision
    • Understanding of typography, colour, layout and motion design principles
    • Knowledge and experience of user experience design principles - heuristics principles, the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
    • Domain knowledge of Android, iOS and web software development platforms
    • Knowledge and understanding of information architecture
    • Knowledge and understanding of responsive design
    • Knowledge and understanding of how to design for inclusivity and accessibility
    • Experience working in Agile/Scrum, SDLC development process 
    • 2-3 years of relevant professional experience
