Associate Solution Architect at West Indian Ocean Cable Company (WIOCC)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical pre-sales support to the sales, bids and service delivery processes
• Lead architecture initiatives from inception to completion
• Collaborate with business users to create architecture in alignment with a business need
• Act as a technical subject matter expert for business users
• Champion the adoption of reusable architecture assets to improve efficiency
• Reserve capacity for designed solutions
• Assist with the creation of ad hoc reports as needed
• Assist other departments as requested by the Line Manager
• Actively use and ensure the data integrity of systems
• Produce documentation to aid in the understanding of existing architecture solutions

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering Experience & Skills
• Requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in the telecom industry; including experience in service delivery, sales support, network infrastructure or operations support or similar fields
• Knowledge of OTN, SDH, and Data (Ethernet, IP/MPLS)
• Knowledge of Visio, KMZ and Google Earth.
• Capable of providing recommendations and options to identify all impacts and costs related to the recommended solution
• Effective written and verbal communications skills evidenced by previous work history and accomplishments
• Excellent communications and presentation skills, including the ability to summarise and concisely share key project information to all levels of the organisation
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities, set direction and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to work outside of normal office hours
