    Director, Strategy & Innovation

    REF: TNH/HRD/DSI/07/21

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and preparation of the Hospital’s long term strategic plan including its implementation; drive the Hospital’s business development, marketing and CSR activities; as well as lead the technology transformation activities in line with the overall strategic objectives.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Formulate and ensure implementation of leading practice strategies in business development, marketing, CSR, and ICT in line with the overall strategic objectives.
    • Keep abreast of local and global best practices in business development, marketing, CSR, and ICT and make recommendations to the CEO and on how this impacts the organizational transformation.
    • Demonstrate ownership of and communicate strategy and innovation strategic direction and objectives to all staff.

    • Ensure that the Hospital makes financially sound, executable, and data-driven business strategies that improve the shareholders’ value.
    • Continuously monitor and evaluates the Hospital’s long term, medium- & short-term strategic objectives and initiatives that enable the achievement of its overall strategic plan.
    • Monitor and proactively analyse internal and external events that affect the Hospital on an ongoing basis to provide ideas and leadership for both short-term tactics and long-term positioning and vision.
    • Ensure that the corporate strategy is well cascaded through annual corporate plans or targets of the Hospital to guide resource allocation and key decisions aimed at the achievement of results.
    • Spearhead the Hospital’s innovation agenda to generate, select and implement value adding ideas to improve product development, business process improvement and automation.
    • Oversee the development of new and innovative products and services based on patient behaviours analysed by use of data analytics and in consultation with the Director, Medical Services.
    • Identify partnerships and collaboration opportunities to achieve identified business segments’ growth for realization of strategic growth objectives.
    • Lead the development of robust business development and marketing agenda for the Hospital to ensure sustainable business growth.
    • Oversee development of customer service strategies and practices to ensure excellent patient experience throughout the Hospital.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Marketing Management, Management, or related discipline from a reputable university.

    • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in a similar role in a large organization with 7 years at senior management level.

    Chief Radiologist

    REF: TNH/HRD/CR/07/21

    Reporting to Director, Medical Services & Research, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing oversight in leading the Radiology Department and ensure production, interpretation, and delivery of quality radiology diagnostic services in line with established protocols and the hospital’s strategic objectives.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Chief Radiologist will be expected to manage the department to maintain timely and efficient patient flow in line with Hospital targets while ensuring staffing levels at all times.

    Develop, review, and ensure adherence to radiology protocols and standards in consultation with other clinical departments to ensure quality interpretation of radiographic images to provide proper accurate diagnosis and treatment to the consumers of the service

    1. Ensure efficient production of quality radiography imaging services in line with established protocols and in collaboration with the Chief Radiographer to achieve accurate diagnosis.
    2. Ensure timely and accurate review and interpretation of radiographic images by the radiology team to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment in line with established protocols.
    3. Communicate and discuss radiography test results with other physicians to seek second opinion to validate and provide accurate imaging findings.
    4. Carry out and manage special radiological procedures and provide technical advice on findings for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
    5. Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior consultants and doctors and offer second opinion as may be required to improve patient care.
    6. Identify professional development gaps and ensure implementation of appropriate professional development interventions for the radiology team to ensure the team has the right skills and exposure to best practices.
    7. Responsible for setting, monitoring, and evaluating key performance indicators for the team.
    8. In liaison with the Director, Medical Services & Research, prepare departmental annual plans that are aligned to the Hospital’s strategic plan.
    9. Keep abreast local and global best practices in radiology and make recommendations to the Medical Director on how these impacts the hospital.
    10. Recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies as well as report any repair and maintenance of the equipment in a timely manner to ensure optimal operation.
    11. Manage the radiation exposure to radiology staff to ensure that it remains within the recommended maximum limits as per the Atomic Agency guidelines.
    12. Manage implementation of all hospital approved quality management systems including ISO standards, environmental management system (EMS), occupational health and safety
    13. OH&S), and JCIA among others to ensure full compliance of the radiology department to the guidelines.
    14. Identify, deploy, and motivate the radiology specialists’ team including performance appraisal, identification of training needs, mentorship and coaching as well as leave and absence management in line with the hospital’s human resource manuals.
    15. Be able to participate in the hospital general radiology rota with the provision for tele radiology interactions using a broadband provision among radiologists and radiographers.

    Clinical Pharmacist

    Reporting to the Chief Pharmacist, the successful candidates will be responsible for the following amongst others:

    • Ensure compliance with professional and legal practice and standard operating procedures

    Chief Pathologist

    Reporting to Director Medical Services the successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and management oversight in the pathology department and ensure delivery of quality and timely pathology services to patients in line with established protocols and the Hospital’s patient care objectives.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. The Chief Pathologist will be expected to manage the Laboratory department to maintain timely and efficient patient flow in line with Hospital targets while ensuring staffing levels at all times.
    2. Develop, review, and ensure compliance to pathology protocols and standards in consultation with other clinical departments in order to ensure quality pathology service delivery in the hospital.
    3. Ensure delivery of patient centric pathology services in line with established protocols and to contribute to overall patience experience.
    4. Review and develop strategies for early and effective response to the patients presented to pathology department.
    5. Coordinate medical training including Continuous Medical Education programs for the clinical staff at pathology department.
    6. Bear overall responsibility pathology clinical staff, supervise and mentor the pathologists in the management, stabilization, and treatment of all patients.
    7. Champion the definition of processes, policies, and procedures for the pathology operations in line with the Hospital’s objectives and standards.

    Manager, Radiology

    Reporting to Chief Radiologist, the successful candidate will be responsible for overall purpose of this job is to manage production and delivery of efficient and quality radiology imaging services in line with established protocols and the Hospital’s patient care objectives.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. The Manager Radiology will be expected to undertake the administrative roles in the radiology department to maintain timely and efficient patient flow in line with Hospital targets while ensuring staffing levels at all times.
    2. Develop, review and ensure adherence to radiography imaging protocols and standards in consultation with other clinical departments in order to ensure quality imaging services in the hospital.
    3. Ensure delivery of patient centric radiology services in line with established protocols and in order to contribute to overall patience experience.
    4. Ensure radiation safety standards are adhered to by patients, radiology staff and members of public during radiology procedures in line with the Radiation Act, 1985.
    5. Ensure radiation emitting equipment have valid licenses and meet the quality assurance standards in line with the Radiation Protection Board guidelines.
    6. Coordinate periodic maintenance of all radiology equipment in line with maintenance specifications and to ensure optimal operational efficiency of the equipment.
    7. Monitor the radiation exposure of the radiology staff through monthly dose readings and yearly blood count to ensure radiation exposure in radiography remains within the recommended maximum limits as per the Atomic Agency guidelines.

    Reporting to Director Strategy & Innovation, the successful candidate will be responsible for championing continuous optimization of the hospital operations and ensure innovation and renewal of core processes and continuous availability of hospital systems, networks, databases, and data security systems to guarantee reliability and optimum support of hospital operations in line with the strategic objectives.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Define the hospital’s digital strategy to drive innovation and ensure automation of patient facing and back office processes in line with the hospital’s strategy.
    2. Demonstrate ownership of and communicate the ICT strategic direction and objectives to all staff to promote employee engagement and productivity.
    3. Provide ICT advisory support to the senior management as the hospital’s ICT lead.

    3. Professional ICT qualifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CCNA or other equivalent and recognized qualifications.

    Chief Pharmacist

    Reporting to Director, Medical Services & Research, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and management oversight of the pharmacy services department and ensure delivery of quality and efficient pharmacy services in line with the established protocols and the Hospital’s patient care objectives and the licensing board guidelines and policies.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • The Chief Pharmacist will be expected to manage the department to maintain timely and efficient patient flow in line with Hospital targets while ensuring staffing levels at all times.
    • Timely development, review and ensure compliance to pharmacy protocols and standards relating to distribution and administration of drugs; in consultation with other clinical departments in order to ensure quality pharmacy service delivery in the hospital.
    • Manage delivery of patient centric pharmaceutical services in all the hospital’s pharmacy outlets in a manner that respects privacy and confidentiality to ensure optimal patient experience.
    • Develop and implement evidence-based medicine management policies in line with best practices and industry trends.
    • Ensure purchase, storage, and supply of pharmacy items in a safe, appropriate, and economic in line with quality standards.
    • Coordinate medical training including Continuous Medical Education programs for staff in the pharmacy services department.
    • Continually review and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the clinical services in pharmacy and identify improvement opportunities.
