    Person Specification

    • Be a fully qualified teacher with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
    • Have a valid Teacher Services Commission
    • Certificate (if applying from Kenya) or a PGCE or
    • Qualified Teacher Status (for overseas applicants).
    • An enthusiastic and passionate educator

    • Excellent interpersonal skills with students, colleagues and parents

    Deputy Head Academic

    Person Specification:
    Qualifications and Experience

    • A good UK Honours Degree (or equivalent)
    • A certified teaching qualification
    • NPQH or Masters in Education is desirable, but not essential.
    • A proven track record of successful school leadership experience at least at departmental level or equivalent.
    • Proven experience of leading, developing and motivating high calibre, diverse teams with a strong commitment to the continued professional development of all colleagues.
    • Experience of teaching children from age 5 to 11.

    Qualifications, Background and Experience

    • Have a good honours degree and a teacher training qualification for the 11 to 18 age range.
    • Have a minimum of two years teaching experience, ideally five or more years teaching experience.
    • Be able to teach Music up to IGCSE and A Level.

    Barista

    Durham International School is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Coffee Barista to deliver exceptional service and high quality beverages at our school coffee shop. The role requires a customer focused individual with strong technical skills in coffee preparation, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for hospitality.

    The successful candidate will prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, maintain cleanliness and efficiency in the coffee shop, and ensure a welcoming environment for staff, students, parents, and visitors.

    Academic Qualifications

    • Certification in Barista Training or Coffee Skills (e.g., Specialty Coffee Association).

    Professional Qualifications

    Office Messenger

    The Office Messenger is responsible for providing efficient messenger and support services to the School.     • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to interact professionally at all levels.
    • Knowledge of Nairobi routes, government agencies, and banking procedures.
