    Brand and Digital Officer

    Job Purpose

    • The Brand and Digital Officer exists to build and sustain DIB Kenya’s daily digital presence, producing the content, managing the channels, and generating the audience engagement that collectively positions the bank as the most credible, visible and trusted Islamic banking institution in Kenya’s digital space.
    • This role is responsible for ensuring that the bank’s story is told every day, on social media, on the website, via email, and through digital campaigns, in a voice that is brand-consistent, culturally authentic, Shariah-aligned, and commercially purposeful. Great content does not merely build awareness; it educates audiences about Islamic banking, builds trust, generates qualified leads, and converts interested prospects into loyal customers. This role is the engine behind that daily output.

    Key Responsibilities

    Content Strategy & Planning

    • Develop and maintain a monthly social media content calendar across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter), ensuring all content aligns to the bank’s marketing strategy, campaign schedule, and business priorities.
    • Research and identify trending topics in Islamic finance, personal finance, Kenya’s business landscape, and relevant community interests to inspire fresh, timely content.
    • Develop and maintain the bank’s content pillars and brand voice guide for digital channels ensuring content is informative, confident, warm, and Shariah-grounded.
    • Conduct an annual content audit to assess the performance of existing content and continuously improve the content strategy based on data and audience insight.

    Social Media Management

    • Manage all DIB Kenya social media channels producing, scheduling, posting, and monitoring engagement daily across all active platforms.
    • Manage community engagement responding to comments, direct messages, and enquiries on social media promptly, accurately, and in the bank’s voice.
    • Set up, manage, and optimize paid social media campaigns on Meta and LinkedIn, in coordination with the Brand Marketing Manager.
    • Stay current with platform algorithm changes, emerging content formats including Reels, Stories, and Carousels, and evolving social media best practices.
    • Grow DIB Kenya’s social media following and engagement rates consistently across all platforms, delivering against agreed annual growth targets.

    Content Production

    • Write high-quality content across all digital formats including social media captions, blog posts, thought leadership articles, email copy, website copy, product descriptions, infographic scripts, and video scripts.
    • Produce and edit basic video and motion graphics content for social media including Reels, Stories, and short-form video, using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, or Canva.
    • Brief and provide direction to the Graphic Designer on all content assets, ensuring visual content aligns with the written narrative and campaign objectives.
    • Manage DIB Kenya’s Islamic calendar content program, producing culturally sensitive, joyful, and brand-aligned content for Ramadan, Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, Muharram, and Mawlid.
    • Produce customer-facing content about DIB Kenya’s products, making complex Islamic banking concepts clear, accessible, and genuinely engaging for a broad audience.

    Website Content Management

    • Manage and update DIB Kenya’s website, ensuring all content is current, accurate, and optimized for both user experience and search engines.
    • Write and publish new web pages, product pages, news articles, and campaign landing pages, coordinating with Compliance for content accuracy and regulatory appropriateness.
    • Implement SEO best practices across the site including keyword research, meta descriptions, header optimization, and content structuring.
    • Monitor website performance using Google Analytics, producing monthly reports on traffic, user behavior, and conversion performance.

    Email Marketing

    • Develop and manage DIB Kenya’s email marketing program, including the customer newsletter, product campaign emails, customer journey communications, and onboarding sequences.
    • Build and segment email lists in coordination with the CRM and Retail Banking teams.
    • Monitor and report on email campaign performance, tracking open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.

    Analytics & Reporting

    • Produce a weekly and monthly digital performance report covering all social media channels, website metrics, and email marketing results.
    • Track all key digital KPIs including follower growth, engagement rates, reach, impressions, website sessions, and digital lead generation.
    • Provide actionable insights drawn from analytics to continuously optimize content strategy and campaign performance.
    • Monitor competitor digital activity across social media, website, and campaigns, sharing a monthly competitive intelligence summary with the key stakeholders.

    Job Specification

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
    • Diploma or short course qualification in Digital Marketing is an added advantage.

    Training / Skills

    • Social media content management across Meta, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
    • Content writing and copywriting across multiple formats including short-form, long-form, and digital.
    • Google Analytics (GA4).
    • Basic video editing for social media using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, or equivalent.
    • SEO fundamentals and on-page optimization.
    • Email marketing platform management (Mailchimp, HubSpot, or equivalent).
    • Canva or Adobe Express for basic design self-service.
    • CMS platform management (WordPress or equivalent).

    Professional Certifications

    • Google Analytics Certification (GA4).
    • Meta Blueprint Certification.
    • HubSpot Content Marketing or Inbound Marketing Certification.
    • Hootsuite Social Marketing Certification.

    Work Experience

    • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in digital marketing, content management, or social media management.
    • Demonstrable experience managing at least one brand’s social media presence independently, with measurable results including audience growth and engagement rates.
    • Portfolio of published content demonstrating range across social media captions, web copy, articles, and video scripts.
    • Experience using Google Analytics or an equivalent analytics platform to monitor and report on digital performance.
    • Experience with at least one email marketing platform.
    • Experience in a banking, financial services, fintech, telecommunications, or regulated industry is a strong preference.

    Competencies

    • Social Media Management: Platform-native proficiency across all major channels with the ability to produce, schedule, and optimize content independently.
    • Content Writing & Copywriting: High-quality written communication across multiple digital formats, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms.
    • Digital Analytics: Ability to track, interpret and act on digital performance data across social media and website channels.
    • SEO & Website Management: Working knowledge of on-page SEO and the ability to manage and update a bank website independently.
    • Paid Social Advertising: Ability to set up, manage, and report on paid social campaigns on Meta and LinkedIn.

    Corporate Communications Manager

    Job Purpose

    • The Corporate Communications Manager exists to protect, build, and strategically advance DIB Kenya’s reputation, voice, and public standing as the country’s leading Shariah-compliant bank. This role is responsible for designing and executing an integrated corporate communications strategy that spans media relations, regulatory stakeholder engagement, internal communications, executive positioning, employer branding, and crisis management.
    • This role designs and executes the strategic communications architecture to support the business and ensures how the bank is perceived by the media, regulators, employees, corporate clients, and the communities it serves is always aligned to its business ambitions. The role translates the bank’s heritage into a compelling, credible Kenyan narrative that builds trust, attracts deposits, and strengthens the bank’s commercial position.

    Key Responsibilities

    Corporate Communications

    • Develop and execute DIB Kenya’s corporate communications strategy, covering media, internal audiences, regulators, and corporate stakeholders.
    • Produce and distribute high-quality press releases, corporate announcements, leadership statements, and bank milestone communications, ensuring alignment with DIB Group communications standards.
    • Maintain a bank-wide communications calendar, ensuring all key dates, milestones, product launches, and strategic events are planned and communicated proactively.
    • Oversee the production of the bank’s annual report communications sections and stakeholder presentations.
    • Draft CEO speeches, Board presentations, and stakeholder correspondence to the highest standard of executive communication.

    Media Relations

    • Build, manage, and deepen relationships with key media stakeholders across print, broadcast, online, and trade publications in Kenya and the East Africa region.
    • Develop a proactive media placement strategy that generates regular, positive coverage of DIB Kenya’s business milestones, Islamic banking education content, and community contributions.
    • Manage all media enquiries, coordinate press briefings, and oversee the bank’s spokesperson function, ensuring all media engagements are aligned, accurate, and on message.
    • Monitor media coverage, produce weekly and monthly media monitoring reports, and calculate earned media value.
    • Build relationships with financial, business, Islamic finance, and lifestyle journalists to ensure consistent and high-quality coverage.

    Internal Communications

    • Work closely with HR to design and manage a structured internal communications programme to ensure all employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with DIB Kenya’s strategy, culture, and values.
    • Develop and distribute the bank’s internal newsletter, leadership messages, town hall facilitation materials, and all-staff communications.
    • Partner strategically with Human Resources in communicating organisational changes, policy updates, and culture-building initiatives.
    • Manage internal crisis communications, ensuring staff are informed accurately and promptly during periods of change or uncertainty.

    Executive Communications & Thought Leadership

    • Support the CEO and ExCo in building their personal profiles as credible industry leaders through keynote speeches, media appearances, op-eds, and speaking engagements.
    • Develop a thought leadership calendar that positions DIB Kenya’s leadership at key Islamic finance, banking, and business events in Kenya and across Africa.
    • Write and edit executive communications including speeches, articles, LinkedIn content, award submissions, and industry commentary.
    • Prepare briefing notes, media training support, and talking points for all senior leadership external engagements.

    Reputation Management

    • Develop and maintain DIB Kenya’s reputation management framework, including issues management protocols, crisis communications playbooks, and stakeholder escalation pathways.
    • Monitor brand sentiment, media narratives, competitor positioning, and public perception, providing regular intelligence reports to the Head of Marketing, Brand & Communications and the CEO.
    • Lead the bank’s response to reputational risk events, coordinating across Legal, Compliance, HR, and the CEO’s Office.
    • Ensure all public-facing communications are compliant with Central Bank of Kenya regulations, DIB Group policies, and Islamic banking principles.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Manage DIB Kenya’s relationship with key external stakeholders including the Central Bank of Kenya, Kenya Bankers Association, Shariah advisory bodies, and relevant industry associations.
    • Develop a structured stakeholder engagement plan, ensuring regular and value-adding touchpoints with regulators, government bodies, and community leaders.

    Employer Branding

    • Develop and execute, in partnership with HR, DIB Kenya’s employer brand strategy, positioning the bank as an employer of choice in Kenya’s financial services sector.
    • Partner with HR to create compelling recruitment communications, career portal content and campus engagement programmes.
    • Manage DIB Kenya’s LinkedIn Careers presence, Glassdoor profile, and broader talent attraction communications.
    • Build the bank’s reputation as a diverse, inclusive, and values-driven employer with a strong Shariah-compliant culture and genuine career development commitment.
    • Produce employee testimonial campaigns, staff spotlight features, and behind-the-scenes content that humanise the DIB Kenya brand.
