    Customs Clearance Clerk – Nairobi, Kenya

    Our client, a well-established logistics service provider is looking for an experienced Customs Clearance Clerk. The ideal candidate will be required to handle documentation and other regulatory requirement for the freight moving across national borders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prospect and identify clients to facilitate the development of the business.
    • Undertake data capturing activities, feed data into customs operating system and set up master data for transactions.
    • Research, identify and obtain the permits, licenses, and certificates required for customs clearance and general customs formalities.
    • Good implementable plans for clients business in line with company policy.
    • Collect data to draft reports and updates for performance monitoring to support other team members.
    • Closely work with the team in dispatch, documentation and logistics for the smooth running of operations in the system.
    • Prompt attention to all clients’ and transporters complaints within the stipulated time frame and with good feedback to management.
    • Follow up with both operations and clearing staff to ensure that all documents are screened before capture and lodgement with customs to identify deviation (if any) and to inform clients immediately.
    • Ensure that all financial request and transactions are well handled with accounts team and address seemingly delay with management.
    • Ensure all facilities are in place for transporters and that all safety standards are met with other specific requirements from clients.
    • Ensure Daily and weekly update of activities to both the Supply chain managers.
    • Design clients meeting activities and take note for further follow-up/ actions.
    • Communication with customs.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accountant or Finance & Banking.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Prior experience in the same field for at least 5 years.
    • Good customer service skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Good organisational skills.
    • Acceptable written and verbal communication skills (Swahili and English).
    • Good computer literacy.

    Junior Data Analyst (Agriculture)

    Our client is a data analytics, and research organization, based in Nairobi. They are looking for a Data Analyst, who will drive analytics function by generating data-driven insights to guide commercial and operating strategy; developing metrics dashboards, and statistical analyses; and helping to shape their overall vision & strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for using a wide range of data and evidence tools, including the use of advanced data analytics to help decision-makers in the organizations’ operations and rigorously test what works to support the business process. He/she must have 2-3 years of working experience in a similar role within the sector.

    • Build models to identify trends, forecast performance, and identify improvements to company strategy, products, and operations

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or other related fields.
    • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Proven ability in data analytics, visualization and reporting
    • Skilled in SQL, Python or any database Manipulation Language
    • Experience with visualization tools (Analogyx, Power Bi, Tableau etc.)

    Market Development Manager

    Our client, in the agricultural sector based in Nairobi, is looking for an experienced Market Development Manager. The goal of this position is to develop effective market penetration and expansion strategies aiming at achieving growth in the seeds department. He/she should have at least 5 years’ experience in the Seed industry, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sales and marketing role. The candidate must be computer literate, have a valid driving license, have a willingness to travel widely, and have the ability to lead a team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for demand creation of seeds in existing and new markets.
    • Develop and implement proper framework for seeds, ground activation aiming at optimizing the company’s market share for the product portfolio.
    • Prepare growth strategy with commercial team for different regions based on market opportunities for available crop portfolio.
    • Maintain and deepen relationships and partnerships with key customers including institutions, NGO’s, plant raisers and export farms.
    • Map potential customers, partners and leads for the organization to generate new opportunities for the business.
    • Work on timely implementation of campaigns and other marketing activities aligned with the season.
    • Continually assess marketing techniques and their efficacy and contribution to sales in collaboration with the sales team.
    • Close coordination with the product development manager on market challenges and gaps to be filled.
    • Create marketing and training materials in collaboration with the marketing team.
    • Keep abreast and report competitor activities, market trends/shifts and prepare strategies to curb competition and adjust to new trends.
    • Be able to handle customer complaints.
    • Product promotion functions.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture or any other related field.
    • Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
    • Evidence of ability to innovate and implement change successfully.
