    • Complexity/ Judgement    While the Graphic Designer works under management direction, the role requires significant independent creative judgement and a consistent standard of self-quality-control. The complexity of the role stems from several factors: Brand consistency at volume: Producing multiple design assets per month while maintaining absolute brand consistency requires a deep internalization of the brand guidelines and a disciplined, systematic approach to design. Production accuracy: In a banking environment, design errors are not merely aesthetic inconveniences. A wrong interest rate, a misspelled product name, or incorrect regulatory disclaimer on a printed brochure can create compliance, legal, and reputational problems. The role holder must apply meticulous attention to detail to every piece of artwork before it goes to production. Cultural and religious design sensitivity: DIB Kenya’s brand has a strong Islamic heritage, and a significant proportion of its visual output relates to Islamic banking products, Shariah-compliant values, and Muslim cultural occasions. Managing multiple concurrent briefs: The role holder will regularly be managing multiple design briefs simultaneously, at varying stages of completion, for different internal clients. This requires excellent personal organization, clear communication about timelines and priorities, and the judgement to know when to escalate conflicting demands. Balancing creative ambition and practical constraints: The role holder must be capable of producing work that is genuinely beautiful and brand-elevating, while also working within production timelines, budget constraints, and format specifications that are non-negotiable.

    Behavioral Expectations

    •  Craft & Attention to Detail — Is pixel-perfect in every piece of work submitted. Never allows alignment errors, colour inconsistencies, or off-brand treatments to pass through uncorrected. Reliability —Delivers on deadlines without exception. Communicates proactively if a timeline is at risk rather than missing it silently. Creative Ambition — Is not content with the functional minimum. Consistently seeks to push the quality and visual impact of DIB Kenya’s communications higher. Collaborative Receptivity — Receives creative feedback professionally, views revisions as improvements rather than criticisms, and produces better work as a result. Brand Ownership — Treats the DIB Kenya brand as a personal responsibility. Finds off-brand materials genuinely troubling and takes initiative to correct them. Cultural Intelligence — Demonstrates genuine sensitivity to Islamic design traditions, Arabic visual culture, and the aesthetic expectations of a Shariah-compliant financial institution.
