    Administrative Assistant

    Job Summary

    Provide administrative support to the Landscapes for our Futures project as well as other projects within the SPACIAL Unit.

    Job Description

    • Organize and attend meetings and take minutes.
    • Organize international workshops, including accommodation, travel, interpreters, payments, and support report development.
    • Logistics for monitoring missions (travel, accommodation, per diems, accounting).
    • Arrange consultancies, including contracting and management of invoices and payments.
    • Contribute to managing the project budgets.
    • Communication with the CIFOR counterparts regarding reporting, budgets and meetings.
    • Handle travel bookings, requests and expense claims for unit’s staff in liaison with the ICRAF travel office and finance unit.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences.
    • At least 5 years’ experience providing administrative support to large research/development programs.
    • Financial management skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills including task and time management.
    • Problem solving capacity with flexibility to change.

    Scientist; Coordinator – Landscapes For Our Future

    Job Summary

    Leading the coordination and reporting of the ICRAF tasks under the new Landscapes for our Future Initiative Central Component.

    Job Description

    1. Lead donor reporting on behalf of ICRAF.
    2. Coordinate project delivery for ICRAF tasks.
    3. Lead communication with partners and team members.
    4. Support development of harmonized landscape management performance indicators through literature reviews and stakeholder engagement.
    5. Review and analyze documents on sustainable landscape management from across the world and develop reports.
    6. Leads and contributes to scientific journal articles and technical reports.
    7. Lead organization, staffing and reporting of all monitoring missions and participate in up to 6 missions per year.
    8. Support development of a virtual technical helpdesk, including matching country needs to resource and individuals.
    9. Synthesis of interviews and monitoring mission reports.
    10.  Develop policy briefs.

    Other Responsibilities

    1.  Develop communications materials based on the lessons emerging from the countries.
    2.  Represent the project at meetings and events.
    3.  Contribute to CIFOR led deliverables linked to communication.
    4.  Participate and contribute to stakeholder engagement and policy influencing activities.
    5.  Monitors ICRAF progress in delivery of tasks.
    6.  Contribute to fundraising.
    7.  Oversee and tracks budget.
    8.  Presenting/communicating the project to internal and external audiences, including the donor.
    9.  Contribute to the SPACIAL team meetings.
    10.  Contribute to the wider CIFOR-ICRAF community.
    11.  Any other tasks related to the SPACIAL unit.

    Requirements

    • Masters (or PhD) in Agriculture, Environment, Natural Resources or related field with an understanding of landscape management.
    • At least 5 years’ experience working in research/development projects in the global south.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English including scientific writing skills.
    • Ability to work in a diverse team.
    • Analytical and synthesis skills and ability to identify emerging lessons.
    • A second language (French, Spanish or Portuguese) desirable.
    • Ability to use initiative and solve problems.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
