    Grant Programs

    The Project Officer- Grant Programs will be involved in assisting with program development, administration of grants, overseeing budgets, assisting in proposal making. the role will be support the implementation of programs i.e. following through with Implementing Partners (in collaboration with Africa CDC), some level of verification of deliverables by IPs, and defining any risk.

    The ideal candidate is passionate about building a great organization and comfortable with a fluid role in a dynamic
    environment.

Innovation and entrepreneurship are valued and will be essential to the Foundation’s success.     Essential qualifications and experience

    1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a relevant field of study
    2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in participating and assisting in developing, monitoring, and managing
    3. grants and grantees.
    4. Qualifications in Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) with demonstrated program management skills and training. Having overseen sizeable portfolios of programs.
    5. Strong planning and project management skills related to setting and monitoring goals, developing plans and timelines, and measuring success.
    6. Methodical and strategic thinker, with strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative.
    7. Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral.
    8. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and coach/manage junior team members.
    9. Professionalism and demonstrated experience working with senior officials in public and/or private sector.
    10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    11. Demonstrated fluency in English speaking and writing skills, proficiency in other AU official languages is a plus

    Resource Mobilization Lead

    The Resource Mobilization Lead will lead the overall coordination, planning, development, and management of fundraising initiatives to mobilize resources. The Resource Mobilization Lead will also work towards identifying prospects for donor programs, collaborating with staff to track the progress of fundraising activities, conducting prospect research, and supporting grant proposal writing. The Resource Mobilization Lead will assist the Head of External Relations and CEO with ongoing engagement of funders and diversify the Foundation’s network of stakeholder by supporting external communication plans. The ideal candidate is passionate about building a great organization and comfortable with a fluid role in a dynamic environment. Initially, the Resource Mobilization Lead will report to the CEO until the Head of External Relations comes onboard.

    Essential qualifications and experience

    1. A Bachelors Degree or higher required
    2. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the management of sales or fundraising in complex institutions
    3. Experience in successfully managing a pipeline of funding opportunities from prospect research to grant agreement, either in the private or not-for-profit sectors
    4. Strong sense of ethics in fundraising and handling complex gifts
    5. Strong interpersonal skills with experience of working with senior officials in public and/or private sector
    6. Excellent written and personal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues in a straightforward and non-technical manner.
    7. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, and working with flexibility in a collaborative, fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
    8. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and coach/manage junior team members
    9. Demonstrated fluency in English speaking and writing skills, proficiency in other AU official languages is a plus.
