    Internal Auditor

    Job Purpose

    The job holder is responsible for implementing the audit function policies of the Centre including assist in preparation of the annual work plans for the department to ensure that audits are planned and well managed; review internal control systems and verification of operations and activities with a view to assessing the economy efficiency and effectiveness in which NCIA resources are utilized; evaluate and assess risk management control and governance; review to ensure that internal control systems are in place; and recommend the strengthening of internal control systems; assist in preparation of audit reports to the Registrar and the Audit Committee of the Board and follow up implementation of Internal and external audit recommendations.

    Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

    • Planning and coordinating internal audit activities.
    • Executing audit programmes, collecting audit evidence, reviewing internal control systems in
    • operation.
    • Verifying the existence and safety of Centre’s assets.
    • Validating of records and reports.
    • Carrying out audit checks.
    • Ensuring adherence of accounting procedures.
    • Identifying process bottlenecks and recommending remedial action.
    • Carrying out risk assessment preparing and implementing annual audit plans and Committee reports.
    • Developing and reviewing audit management systems; and undertaking audit investigations

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce (Accounting/Finance) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor.
    • Membership of ICPAK or Institute of Internal Auditors(K) in good standing.

    Corporate Strategy Officer

    Job Purpose

    The job holder is responsible for assisting in implementation of the corporate strategies and action plans.

    Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

    • Undertaking corporate strategy services for the Centre.
    • Conducting research, analysis and development for corporate strategies and action plans.
    • Collation and comparison of emerging trends in ADR.
    • Drafting relevant guidelines, concept papers and project proposals.
    • Drafting of relevant guidelines, memoranda of understanding and collaborative agreements for the Centre’s external stakeholders.
    • Assisting in the activities of the Unit as may be assigned from time to time by a senior officer.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Law, Economics, Arbitration, Communication Studies, Public Relations, or related and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.

    Office Assistant

    Job Purpose

    The job holder will be responsible for handling clerical tasks, managing files, updating paperwork and other documents, and performing other general office clerk duties and errands.

    Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

    1. Cleaning offices, machines/ equipments/ apparatus.
    2. Maintenance of general cleanliness around the offices by collection and disposal of litter.
    3. Collecting and disposing waste including papers and ensure general proper sanitation.

    Qualifications

    • Served as Office Assistant for a period of three (3) years or a comparable position in a public or private institution.
    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D- and

    Information, Communication and Technology Officer

    Job Purpose

    The job holder is responsible for evaluating connectivity issues, equipment, and software and
    hardware. Respond to ICT issues, hardware maintenance, software, networking. Provide helpdesk and technical support either by phone, remote access, or site visits and oversee troubleshooting for system errors and set up equipment for new users and employees.

    Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

    • Assisting in the development and implementation of IT systems.
    • Developing hardware and software specifications.
    • Undertaking upgrading of software and hardware.
    • Updating and keeping inventory on I.C.T. equipment.
    • Designing, recommending, and evaluating systems to ensure adherence to established performance standards.
    • Implementation, maintenance, and documentation standards of systems.
    • Maintaining support systems and training of users.
    • Configuration of LAN and WAN.
    • Repairing and maintaining of ICT equipment and associated accessories.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Computer Science, Information
      Technology, Business Information Technology, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
    • Served in the field of I.C.T. for a minimum period of three (3) years.

    Manager Case Management

    Job Purpose

    The job holder is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department and oversees the administration of Domestic and International Arbitrations as well as alternative dispute resolution techniques; the case quality assurance and advisory; ADRresearch & Development as well as ADR Training towards promotion and administrationof ADR.

    Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks
     

    • Formulating and implementing policies and strategies for the department.
    • Administration of the registry and cases registered by the Centre.
    • Ensuring compliance by parties of the relevant laws, rules, and other case management protocols applicable to a case.
    • Providing advisory, technical, and administrative assistance upon request by parties; proposing revision of Rules, Codes of Practice, and guidelines.
    • Issue advisories on enforcement of arbitral awards.
    • Conducting comparative legal analyses on a range of issues.
    • Identifying legal and policy issues, research relevant precedents, and propose appropriate solutions.
    • Preparing briefs and memoranda on diverse topics as required.
    • Assisting the Arbitral Court with any additional or administrative work including library research and online legal resources.
    • Coordination of the implementation of the department’s strategic plans and realization of its objective.
    • Overseeing the implementation of performance appraisal systems and contracts of the department.
    • Preparing budget for the department.
    • Ensuring accountability and prudent management of resources and assets and ensuring
    • compliance with principles and values of good governance transparency, accountability, ethics, and integrity.
    • Monitoring, evaluating, and reviewing work plans for the department

    Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills)

    Academic Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Law, Arbitration, or  equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Law, Arbitration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

    Other qualifications

    • Certificate in Arbitration and/or Mediation or any other ADR disciplines.
    • Certificate in a corporate governance course from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in a strategic leadership course from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in a senior management course from a recognized institution.
    • Proficiency in computer application skills, word, excel, power point, internet usage

    Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies

    1. Post-graduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
    2. Be a member of a recognized professional body in good standing.


    Previous relevant work experience required.

    • Served in the grade of Principal Case Counsel - Case Administration/CaseQuality Assurance &
      Advisory for a minimum period of three (3) years

    Or

    • Have relevant working experience of at least seven (7) years’ experience in a relevantand comparable position in the public or private sector with a minimum of five (5) years in a senior management position.
