    International Programmes (IP) Workstream Lead - Flexible Operating Model

    Role Purpose:

    • Save the Children is evolving its organisational structure in order to stay true to its mission, vision and values, whilst being able to withstand external pressures – be those geo-political demands; increasing stakeholder expectations; challenging funding environments; reduced access to funding due to localisation; or declining trust in large INGOs. This project is focused on designing and implementing a future-oriented and more flexible operating model whilst maintaining the integrity, cohesion and reputation of the Save the Children movement.

    The International Programmes (IP) Workstream Lead holds a critical position within the Flexible Operating Model management team, driving the project’s success. Specifically:

    • Lead the IP Work Stream Programmes functions (12) of the Flexible Operating Model, providing the project with subject matter expertise so that design, development, and implementation decisions reflect the needs of the global Programmes function and alignment with global strategic priorities.
    • Responsible to deliver on the design, development, and implementation of objectives within their functional areas of responsibility.
    • To represent the Flexible Operating Model project across global IP functions and member senior stakeholders, ensuring they remain informed and committed to the project. This includes getting agreement across members, centre, country, and regional programme senior stakeholders to proposals from the Project affecting their functional areas.
    • To ensure that IP Functional Leads/SMTs working/supporting the Project are engaged in all the phases of the Project.
    • Be the focal point of contact within the Project for the Country and/or Regional Offices that are selected to receive a new operating model.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Significant senior level leadership and management experience in a large and complex international NGO or organization
    • Significant experience managing field operations, across the full spectrum of programming from humanitarian assistance to development, with an understanding also of institutional needs supportive of the global mission.
    • Experience in solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in
    • Excellent business partnering, communication and relationship building skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage productive relationships with SC member agencies and senior staff.
    • Experience in implementing organisational structure/operating model change projects in the NGO sector.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and use initiative.

    Payroll and Pensions Specialist

    Role Purpose:

    • To role is responsible for the accurate and timely payment and recording of salaries, including all tax, social security and pensions contributions for 8 (currently) non-standard outsourced payrolls for centre employees based outside of the UK and IR35 payroll, in accordance with employee contracts, legislation and organisational timetables. Responding to queries from employees and payroll and pension providers accurately and timely. The role will deputise for the Head of Payroll and Pensions and be an advisor to the Payroll & Pension officers and others on UK payroll and tax requirements. The role will be the key contact with the multiple external payroll providers regarding monthly processes and queries.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Previous experience of end to end payroll administration and processing in a complex global organisation department
    • Knowledge/experience of UK pension legislation
    • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
    • Knowledge of internal controls and audits
    • Knowledge of relevant UK legislation relating to payroll
    • Knowledge and experience of working with HR systems, currently Oracle
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Analytical and methodical
    • Excellent customer service skills

    Global Talent and Learning Director(Maternity Cover)

    Role Purpose:

    • The purpose of this role is to lead and develop the Talent and Learning Centre Expertise. The role holder will work collaboratively with HR Leadership team to evolve and deliver connected, strategic, global people priorities’. The role is responsible for ensuring that Talent and Learning Initiatives enable SCI / SCA to achieve its ambition for Children by ensuring that Talent is an advantage and a key lever of performance, retention and engagement. The role holder is accountable for global Talent Management, Performance Management and Succession planning processes ensuring that we have stability of leaders, high quality leaders and diverse representation. To support these processes the team also manage a multi-level leadership and management development offer that is scaled our across our global workforce. In addition the team manages the employee induction process, mandatory training and the global learning management system. To be successful the role holder must partner with business leaders and HR Business Partners to amplify impact. Ultimately, the role will contribute to the achievement of the P&O strategic intent by making SCI a great place to work for all of our people.

    • Proven experience in a senior HR / Talent and Learning leadership role, in a complex global organisation.
    • Really good understanding of all aspects of Talent, Leadership, Culture and Capability using strong data analytics skills to measure impact and continuously improve what we do
    • Demonstrated track record of designing and delivering innovative learning solutions to a diverse audience on a global scale
    • Experience managing and developing high performing L+D teams, role model desired organisational leadership behaviours
    • Excellent Project management skills with the ability to prioritise and execute multiple initiatives in a fast paced and changing environment
    • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
    • Strong experience managing and implementing HR / Learning systems
