    Chief Officer Agriculture

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have:

    • Kenyan citizenship;
    • A relevant Bachelor’s degree recognised in Kenya;
    • A Master’s degree will be an added advantage;
    • Be a strategic thinker and results-oriented;
    • Be a member of the Professional Body in the discipline;
    • Proven experience of at least ten (10) years of service from a reputable organization, with at least five (5) years in a senior management position; Computer literacy
    • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee the smooth running of the Agriculture Division;
    • Implementation of County Executive Committee resolutions as guided by the Executive Committee Member
    • Formulate and implement effective Divisional Plans in line with the Vision 2030, CIDP III and other Sectoral goals;
    • Proper management and supervision of the human resources in the Division;

    • Enforcement of the Public Health Act (Cap.242), Food, Drug and Chemical  Substances Act (Cap.254), Tobacco Control Act 2007, Alcoholic Drinks Control Act, 2010, Bio-safety Act 2009, Malaria Prevention and Control Act (Cap. 246), Meat Control Act (Cap. 356), and any other relevant legislations on public health and other relevant legislations on public health in liaison with other relevant government agencies;
    • Formulation and implementation, interpretation and review of public health policies and guidelines;
    • Plan and implement promotive and preventive health programmes,
    • Coordinate with relevant departments and stakeholders in the implementation of public health projects and programmes;
