    Manager, Area ICS 1

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This management position provides information and communication services and leadership that enable the Church to effectively respond as the Lord hastens the work. The area ICS manager's purpose is to ensure that area technology needs are met. This is done by working closely with area leadership to understand needs, priorities, and directions, and assist in the creation of technology plans. The area ICS manager is responsible for all information and communications technology within the area, ensures users of IT are well served, and represents all aspects of IT.

    This role ensures that Church policies and procedures are followed. This role also communicates effectively with headquarters ICS and coordinates needs and solutions where appropriate. The area ICS manager leads the ICS team and ensures the right people are working effectively in their roles in a simple and affordable way. The area ICS manager reports to the area support services manager (ASSM) and is a contributing member of any area technology councils and committees.

    This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides trusted consulting to key area technology stakeholders as described in the area ICS support model and to headquarters departments and ICS divisions and portfolios. Helps them to understand how technology can and should be used to meet the area's vision and needs.
    • Finds and supports technology solutions to meet area needs by leveraging relationships with local vendors and global process owners at headquarters.
    • Identifies technology risks; recommends and executes actions to comply with policies and standards and meet area needs.
    • Ensures area compliance to global church policies, standards, and processes.
    • Works closely with headquarters ICS to ensure that all solutions meet headquarters ICS security and technical requirements.
    • Participates in the development and execution of the area's annual IT plan.
    • Manages the overall area ICS organization, delegating where possible all tactical work to others, including support managers, technical support representatives, and area technology specialists.
    • Manages the area ICS budget.
    • Manages IT vendor relations, services and contracts.
    • Is accountable for IT projects and customer support in the area.
    • Measures and reports performance of the area ICS team.
    • The employee must regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce)
    • The employee is authorized, in partnership with HR, to hire or fire employees and recommends advancement, promotion or any other change of status of employees within their reporting line

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent professional experience

    Work Experience:

    • 8 years of experience working in information technology, with 2 years working in a leadership role.
    • Sound experience in church leadership and superior interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with key area leaders such as the ASSM, Director for Temporal Affairs, Area Presidency, and other area department managers.

    Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to learn new concepts and new products as well as possessing strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong technical understanding of Windows, networking, and troubleshooting.
    • Ability and willingness to travel when needed.
    • Requires excellent communication skills. Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write English

    Strategic Relationship Mgr. 2

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The purpose of the Strategic Relationship Mgr. 2 (SRM 2) is to be a seasoned and experienced senior professional that optimizes the value of and manages the relationships between one or more Church departments or organizations and preferred suppliers and vendors.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The SRM 2 provides advanced, specialized, and senior-level experience to Church and department leaders during vendor negotiations for strategic and enterprise-wide purchases and supply-chain decisions. This person will interact with senior Church department leaders and senior decision makers for key suppliers and vendors. The SRM 2 will perform some international work and help departments and vendors comply with complicated import and export regulations to minimize risk and exposure to the Church. The SRM 2 will lead the daily work of lower-graded SRMs and buyers as the need arises.

    Specific relationship management duties include the following:

    Manage supplier relationships: Become a negotiating partner with the employer that helps bridge employer needs and supplier qualifications when making significant and strategic supply-chain decisions; leverage the global Church enterprise expenditures to qualify, select, and establish legal contracts with the best possible vendors of products and services at the best value for the Church. Ensure supplier performance of contracted terms and conditions.

    Understand and articulate customer and internal partner needs: document, design solutions for, and ensure that both product and service needs of sponsoring organizations are satisfied at the best possible value; interact with vendors, consultants and professional groups; serve as a product and service industry authority.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Qualifications:

    • BA and at least 7 years related experience required; Requires in-depth supply-chain knowledge and experience and experience in supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, outsourcing or procurement operations management. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
    • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. Works independently; receives minimal guidance.
    • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members.
    • Seasoned interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders. Solid communication and presentation skills are required. Willing to travel (up to 20 % domestic and international travel for up to 2 weeks at a time).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Masters of Business Administration, Juris Doctorate, or other advanced degree; CPM or CPSM certification.
