    Public Service Board Member (2 Positions)

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this position, the candidate must:

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    • Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university;
    • Have a working experience of not less than five (5) years;
    • Be a professional who demonstrates absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct;

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Establish and abolish offices in the County Public Service

    • Exercise disciplinary control over, and remove, persons holding or acting in those offices as provided for under this Part
    • Promote the National and Public Service Values and Principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 in the County.
    • Evaluate and report to the County Assembly on the extent to which the Values and Principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 are complied with in the County public service
    • Facilitate the development of coherent, integrated human resource planning and budgeting for personnel emoluments in the County.
    • Advise the County Government on human resource management and development
    • Advise the County Government on implementation and monitoring of the national performance management system in the County
    • Make recommendations to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, on behalf of the County Government, on the remuneration, pensions and gratuities for County public service employees.

    Municipal Board Member (2 Positions)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Answerable to the board and implement the decisions and functions of the board as per Urban Areas and Cities Act,2011 Section 20 and 21
    • Manage Administration in accordance to the Urban and Cities Areas Act, 2011 and applicable legislations.
    • Formulation and implementation of policies, strategies, plans and programs
    • Develop, implement an integrated Development Plan and monitor its progress
    • Act on behalf of the Municipal Board by ensuring the execution of the decisions of the Board
    • Prepare and present for approval to the Board of the Municipality, an annual estimate of revenue and expenditure.

    Deputy County Secretary

    Duties and responsibilities

    The Deputy County Secretary shall deputize the County Secretary and shall be responsible to the County Secretary for the following:

    • Secretary to the County Performance Management and Monitoring Committee;
    • Dissemination of County Government policies and programs;
    • Coordinating County Government functions, reports and programs;
    • Preparing and drafting memoranda, ministerial positions and concept papers;

    Director County Treasury (Accounting Services)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Managing and coordinating the Accounting function and advising on all matters relating to expenditure, accounting and reporting in the County Government of Murang’a;
    • providing advisory services to the Accounting Officer and other stake holders on all financial and accounting matters in the county;

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Participating in the formulation, development, implementation, monitoring and review of policies laws and strategies

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Organizing, coordinating, managing and supervising the general administrative functions in the Sub-County;

    Enforcement Officer ( 50 Positions)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Enforcement of National and County laws and regulations as outlined under schedule four of the constitution of Kenya
    • Undertake routine patrols and or guarding of access points and key strategic areas in County institutions and installations; Execute all orders and warrants lawfully issued to county law breakers;

    Driver III (Re-Advertisement) (15 Positions)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve:

    • Driving a motor vehicle as authorized,
    • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure, e.t.c.

    • Must have KNEC Certificate or Diploma in ECDE
    • Must be registered by the TSC
    • Must have a Mean Grade of D+
    • Must have D+ in either English or Kiswahili
    • Must have a minimum experience of 3 years in teaching

    Terms of Service: (3) Three Years Contract.  ECDE Caregivers earn a consolidated monthly income of Kshs. 15,000 per Month

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Facilitate maintenance of infrastructure and facilities

    Assistant Community Health Officer III (5 Positions)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve:

    • Collecting health related data at household level for analysis.
    • Maintaining and updating community health unit registers and keeping records.
    • Identifying common ailments and minor injuries at community level.
    • Identifying and referring health cases to appropriate health facilities.
    • Visiting homes to determine the health situation and dialogue with household members.
    • Identifying and sensitizing communities on health interventions.
    • Monitoring growth of children under the age of five years.
    • Identifying defaulters of health interventions and referring them to the health facilities.
    • Managing community health resource centers.

    • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Community Health Nursing, Community Health, Community Oral Health, Psychology, Nutrition, Environmental health, Counseling, Social Work, Community Development or Health promotion and Education from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution
