    Head, Data Management

    Job Purpose Statement

    Enterprise Data Management ("EDM") is a process that seeks to ensure Data in NCBA Group PLC is accurate and consistent to meet the strategic and business goals. "EDM" has eight key capabilities Data Architecture (DA); Data retention & archiving (DRA); iii) Data quality management (DQM); iv) Metadata management ("MM"); v) Master data Management (MDM);Data privacy & security (DPS), Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) and Data governance.

    The Head, Data Management is in charge of the organization’s enterprise wide data and information strategy, governance, control, policy development, and effective exploitation. The role holder will combine accountability and responsibility for information protection and privacy, information governance, data quality and data life cycle management, along with the exploitation of data assets to create business value. 

    The Head, Data Management is responsible for the following:

    • Developing and governing the Bank’s data and information strategy to drive sound business decisions and growth, establish the strategic direction for building the business’ data management program and optimize how the business uses data both internally and externally.
    • Turn the bank’s data into value by entrenching a data driven culture in the existing business practices with the aim of increasing revenue and/ or cutting costs.
    • Implementing data privacy policies, complying with data protection regulations and driving data security awareness across the organization by outlining and enforcing rules, rights, and accountabilities.
    • Lead the design of the data architecture and analytics infrastructure to support comprehensive, accurate, timely and transparent reports.

    Ideal Job Specifications

    Academic:

    • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance & Banking MIS, or Information Management, operations management

    Professional:

    • Excellent knowledge of Information Science, Data, Data Systems and Processes.
    • Excellent Project Management, analytical, problem solving and reporting skills
    • A good knowledge of the information requirements and standard reporting within Financial Services industry

    Desired work experience:

    • Minimum 12 years' work experience, with over 5 years working in a senior level Data Management role.
    • A proven track record in Data Management and experience with hands–on leadership roles while directly managing data and analytics teams and driving change within a large and complex business set–up.
    • Vast experience in building and leading data science organization or practices as well as successful experience in advocating for data analytics value across a business and to
    • diverse audiences.

    Assistant Manager, Consumer Collections

    Job Purpose Statement

    Managing the assigned portfolio at risk while implementing suitable debt management strategies so as to minimize impairment. A clearly defined strategy for following up and returning the accounts to full performing status must be documented on each name

    Ideal Job Specifications

    Academic:

    • University degree Upper 2nd Class Honors or 3.0 GPA

    Professional:

    • Computer literate
    • Relevant professional qualification in Banking, Risk Management and Law an added advantage.
    • Legal knowledge is highly desirable

    Desired work experience:

    • At least 4 years work experience in a bank or financial services institution of which at least 2 years should have been in remedial management (Debt Collections and/or Recoveries)

    Technical Competencies

    • General debt management skills in order to effectively perform remedial management activities/tasks in a manner that consistently produce good results.
    • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures and guidance to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
    • Planning and organizing skills for effective planning and execution of tasks and deliverables within timeframes and budget.
    • Quality orientation to facilitate management of services provided by partners.
    • Quality orientation to ensure consistency in adhering and uphold performance standards for Service Level
    • Report Writing Skills.
    • I.T skills
    • Analytical skills, understanding and interpretation of facilities as structured and options available in the process of structuring plans for turning around distressed and/or non-performing loans.
    • Excellent negotiation skill

    Assistant Manager, Operational Risk Management

    Job Purpose Statement

    Responsible for implementation of risk and compliance frameworks, take charge of risk identification, assessment and mitigation strategies. Ensuring these aspects are embedded into the operations of the Bank in consultation with the Head, Operational Risk Management. Performing independent reviews on compliance with the bank’s laid policies and procedures assess adequacy of risk management controls, observance of regulatory requirements and highlight exceptions or violations. 

    Ideal Job Specifications

    Academic:

    • A University graduate.

    Professional:

    • A risk related professional qualification
    • CPA (K), ACCA qualifications is an added advantage

    Desired work experience:

    • At least 6 years working experience in banking environment, with sound exposure to Bank Operations, Regulatory and Compliance requirements.
    • At least 4 years’ working experience in Enterprise Risk environment and execution in Operational Risk

    Facilities & Projects Officer

    Job Purpose Statement

    This role is responsible for supporting the management of the premises facilities and construction projects within the set timelines, budget, standards and organizational policies and procedures.

    Ideal Job Specifications

    Academic:

    • A Degree in Building/Land Economics, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or
    • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.

    Professional:

    • Good understanding of the banking industry
    • Practical experience in use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet.
    • Proven Project & Facilities Management experience
    • Experience in Health & Safety matters/ training is an added advantage

    Desired work experience:

    • At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role in the banking industry.
