    Accounts Receivable

    JOB SPECIFICATION:

    • Creation of new customer ledgers capturing all relevant information including I-tax registration numbers and contact details. Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records
    • Prepare and issue accurate quotations and invoices to customers in a timely manner
    • Monitor customer accounts for delayed payments and follow up proactively. Enforce credit policies and recommend credit limits where applicable
    • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for against receipts
    • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes
    • Generate Weekly AR aging reports and highlight risk accounts
    • Coordinate with certification desk and customer service teams to resolve any client issues related to billing and payments
    • Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes, including preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
    • Actively manage and attain reduction of company bad debt provision as per KPIs Improve company cash cycle and enhance cash conversion as per KPIs
    • Use insights from debtors’ collection & ledger analysis to identify collection trends, prepare root cause analysis and support FM to drive plans to mitigate impact on bad debts.
    • Adhere to IFRS and the Finance Policy.
    • Advise the Board through the Finance Manager when there is surplus beyond immediate cash requirements for purposes investments. Prepare cashflow projections
    • Perform other financial duties related to the role.

    DO YOU POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting a related field from a reputable academic institution. CPA (K) qualification will be an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 4 years working experience in a similar position in a busy office environment in a culturally fluent, multinational set-up.
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software
    • Should be well versed with tax and labor laws of Kenya.
    • Experience in adherence to tight reporting deadlines
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attentive to detail
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
    • Good interpersonal skills and a team player
    • Strong integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Previous experience in credit control and debt recovery processes will be an added advantage

    Business Development Manager – Nairobi or Subsidiary Office

    Duties and Responsibilities Include:

    • Formulate and contribute to the development and delivery of successful client acquisition and retention in line with the group’s strategic goals.
    • Develop a strong understanding of customers and market dynamics.
    • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching on industry-related events and publications.
    • Forecast sales targets and working in conjunction with the finance department and the certification officer in ensuring they are met.
    • Take a lead role in conducting annual customer satisfaction surveys.
    • Recommend remedial measures to the Board of Directors. Regularly taking up the role of ‘mystery assessor’ and or ‘mystery client’.
    • Act as the liaison between customers and other departments within the organization.
    • Market visibility- identify and budget for participation in key industry events e.g. AFCA, BioFach, UEBT Conference, GG Tour inter alia.
    • Overall management and disseminating information through the company’s social media platforms.
    • Develop and maintain a risk register for the marketing and business development portfolio.
    • Make follow up contact with the business pipeline developed through various business development activities.
    • Keeping tabs of the competition and collecting market intelligence.
    • In-charge of preparing proposals to respond to formal Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
    • Any other duties related to the role

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a business-related field. Professional qualification and membership to a professional body will be an added advantage.
    • At least 5 years of experience as a Business Development Manager, ideally with exposure to the service industry.
    • Familiar with the certification environment.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with close attention to detail and follow-through.
    • Ability to work effectively with other stakeholders. Cross-cultural experience will be of added advantage.
    • Proactive and well organized with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
    • High integrity, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling information.
    • A team player with good interpersonal skills.
    • Management and negotiation skills with the ability to network, generate new business and develop strong business relations.
    • Well-developed time management and organization skills to deliver results in a demanding environment.
    • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
    • Outstanding analytical, Project Management and interpersonal Skills.
    • Proficiency to speak in both English and French is preferred.
