    Located at the main entrance to the Sanctuary, Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa is an inviting stone building of 60 spacious rooms and two suites, all with their own private viewing balcony. It has a museum that displays some of the World War 1 memorabilia as part of the rich history of Taita Taveta County. Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa is located at the main entrance to the Taita Hills Sanctuary in South Eastern Kenya, 400 km from Nairobi and 200 km from Mombasa. An hour flight from Nairobi or 30 min from Mombasa by private charter lands at the hotel’s own airstrip. The sanctuary is a 3-hour drive from Mombasa and a 6-hour drive from Nairobi on tarmac roads.

    Sanctuary Manager

    We are currently looking to recruit a Sanctuary Manager, to work at Taita Hills & Salt Lick Wildlife Resort Ltd.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Assist in developing and implementing operational work plans with Sanctuary's Senior Managers.
    • Oversee sanctuary activities, including ecological monitoring, tourism, infrastructure maintenance, and game drive coordination.
    • Attend sanctuary and HOD meetings as needed.
    • Participate in ranger capacity building.
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the General Manager and Board.
    • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and other conservation partners.
    • Maintain good relations with the local community and support viable community projects.
    • Produce conservation awareness and educational materials.
    • Coordinate habitat restoration activities like tree planting and invasive species control.
    • Manage staff for high productivity and motivation.
    • Assist in project proposal development, funding, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Undertake other assignments as directed by senior management.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in conservation, natural resource management, rangeland management, or environmental science with a minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory role in a sanctuary, conservancy, national park, or a wildlife-based tourism facility is preferred; possession of a Master's degree and/or paramilitary training with KWS will be an added advantage.
    • Experience in designing and managing conservation-based projects
    • Demonstrated commitment and track record in natural resource management and wildlife conservation
    • Ability to effectively solve problems, creative thinking, and effectively manage a business
    • Demonstrated ability to work in remote areas and multicultural environments with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

    Workshop Manager

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Managing workshop operations.
    • Supervising staff.
    • Maintaining records.
    • Ensure timely completion of projects and assignments.
    • Enforce safety protocols and standards within the workshop.
    • Implement preventive measures to avoid recurring problems.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Minimum of 8 year experience in similar positions.
    • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering.
    • Familiarity with workshop equipment and processes.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven ability to analyze and solve operational challenges.
    • Experience in hospitality is an added advantage

    Assistant Housekeeper

    We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Housekeeper, to work at Taita Hills & Salt Lick Wildlife Resort Ltd.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Update daily room status in Opera (arrivals, departures, early check-ins).
    • Review evening reports and brief the team.
    • Allocate rooms and duties to stewards based on occupancy.
    • Enforce DND rules; ensure VIP and show rooms are ready by 10:00 AM.
    • Prepare and reconcile room discrepancy reports.
    • Supervise staff attendance, grooming, and readiness.
    • Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment condition.
    • Inspect guest rooms and public areas regularly.
    • Ensure safety procedures and brand cleanliness standards are met.
    • Conduct appraisals, performance improvements, and staff training.
    • Handle staff discipline, motivation, and recognition.
    • Participate in stock-taking and related reporting.
    • Uphold Taita Hills & Salt Lick core values, standards, and safety policies.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Diploma or higher in Housekeeping or Hospitality Management.
    • Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience, ideally in a luxury hotel or lodge.
    • Proficient in Opera PMS and MS Office.
    • Strong leadership, organization, and attention to detail.
