    • Data Strategy and Governance: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's business objectives. Define data governance policies, standards, and processes to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

    •  Minimum of 12 years of experience in data management, analytics, or related roles, with at least 7 years in a leadership capacity.
    •  Proven track record of developing and implementing enterprise-wide data strategies and governance frameworks.
    • Strong technical expertise in data architecture, database design, and data modeling.

    Description

    The purpose of this role is to develop and implement the overall Telecommunication and technology strategies to provide highly reliable, financially self-sustaining, and affordable telecommunications services delivered to retail & SME customers. This position also develops long term strategies and manages the functionality and reliability of Equity Group telecommunications infrastructure and systems in line with the over group strategy under the ARRP pillar 6.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct the analysis, formulation, and implementation of strategies to provide highly reliable, financially self-sustaining, and affordable telecommunication services to include evaluation of technology necessary to keep the network up to date. Oversee the design, development, and pricing of wholesale services to retail service providers or other entities.
    • Organize, coordinate and direct telecommunication operations, maintenance, and build-out activities with MVNE & network provider. Achieve high operational reliability standards, minimizing outages and ensuring rapid service restoration when outages occur.
    • Create, develop and maintain relationships to enable the incumbent to a) monitor and influence legislative/regulatory opportunities; b) monitor and assess changes in the telecom industry which may impact the Country operations; c) create opportunities for relationships that will better utilize the network in order to best position Finserve to compete in a competitive telecom marketplace.
    • Formulate, develop, and implement Tech group- Telecoms departmental business plans, maintenance plans, staffing plans, performance metrics, policies, and procedures. Direct the preparation of annual operating budgets. Establish realistic operating cost and revenue targets designed to achieve a financially self-sustaining business unit. Present to the MD for review.
    • Monitor financial performance of the Equitel business unit and provide direction to control costs and/or modify revenue structure and agreements to ensure performance targets are achieved.
    • Provide governance support to the MD and the Board. Participate in team or committee assignments as directed by the MD. Attend Board meetings and other meetings as required.
    •  Lead the negotiation, development, and administration of contracts for purchases and services to support the telecoms operations.
    •  Ongoing Represent the business on various committees and in industry forums. Establish effective internal and external relationships with stakeholders such as regulators, policy makers, internet service providers & customer groups.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Networking, Information Technology or Business Management or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, experiences and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    Knowledge and Experience Required

    • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in a telecommunications field, with five (5) years of experience organizing and directing telecommunication activities at C suite;.

    MD- Mobile Money

    Description

    The role holder will be responsible for leading and managing the overall business and performance of the Mobile money P&L entity. The Mobile Money Head will be in charge of analysis and defining customers, market requirements as well as trends to ensure that the business achieves it set goals which have been aligned to the group’s ARRP.

     Responsibilities

    • Responsible for MFS P&L and growth of customers in line with ARRP
    • Develop and expand core MFS transactional business including pricing, incentive, and distribution for customer acquisition and retention.
    •  Work on main commercial drivers, optimize existing revenue streams and develop new ones.
    • Coordinate activities within the Product house and Mobile money to ensure seamless integration to core banking and Omni
    • Review and ensure competitive trade incentive schemes to drive and maximize MFS Revenue.
    •  Provide direction in the management of agent network, ensure appropriate growth rate, incentivize, drive performance, quality, visibility, and liquidity.
    • Develop a robust plan to optimize the development of the forecasted market, identify risks and opportunities.
    •  Provide direction and leadership and oversees customer acquisition efforts, agent management, maintain required subscriber intake, ARPU, and acquisition incentives and minimize churn.
    • Oversee execution of product roadmap that responds to customer needs in collaboration with the Equity banking, EGF and Insurance groups,
    • Monitor product performance, trends and undertake corrective actions where required.
    • Develop liquidity management strategy for MFS to ensure maximization of available liquidity options such as direct distribution, Super-Agent model, sub-dealer model and remote banking and leverage existing banking agency footprint.
    • Provide strategic directions to position Equity Tech group MFS as the most innovative product in the region.
    • Coordinate with the regulators on the implementation and updating of the industry policies and align management toward them.
    • Implements and documents effective risk management policies in line with Enterprise Risk Management Framework
    • Comprehensively understands all costs and revenue levers of the business unit.
    • Formulate and implement detailed plans for cost optimization.

    Qualifications

    •  A university degree in Economics, Marketing, Finance, Management, Communications, or related disciplines; MBA will be an added advantage.
    • 10 years’ experience in a similar role with 5years leadership experience in managing MFS of Fintech teams
    • Experience in telecoms, e-commerce, software, finance or other related industries preferable.
    • Experience working in Emerging Markets required.
    • Must possess strong analytical skills, documentation, exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to champion change and effectively guide the implementation of new ideas.
