    Director Veterinary Service

    Duties and responsibilities 

    • Supervise animal health programs and veterinary public health activities within the county;
    • Coordinate implementation of animal disease control activities such as surveillance, treatment and vaccination;
    • Participate in developing disease control strategies that ensure reduced incidences of disease outbreaks and eventually maintain the disease-free status of the County;
    • Management of information systems for the animal health sector in the county;
    • Technical capacity development for the animal sector needs i.e., training for the core functions;
    • Organization and management of veterinary, directorate and resources in the county;

    • Provide licenses to all artificial inseminators in the county;

    • Supervise revenue collection from meat inspection, vaccinations, licensing, livestock, movement permits and breeding services;
    • Custodian of all physical assets under Veterinary Section;
    • Implementing Veterinary Services Programmes in the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP); and,
    • Any other duty assigned by the County Chief Officer.

     
    Requirements for Appointment 
    Be a Kenyan Citizen; 

    • Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Science or its equivalent from a recognized academic institution;
    • Seven (7) years' experience, three (3) years of which must have been in a senior management level in an institution either in public or private sector;
    • Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than Four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Registration by Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB);

    3. Post graduate diploma in legal metrology from Institute of Trade Standards Administration (K);

    Director Budget and Economic Planning

    The officer will be Head of County Budgeting and Economic Planning function unit and will be responsible to the County Chief Officer Finance & Economic Planning for the efficient management of Budget & Economic Planning functions in the County.

    Requirements for Appointment:

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Must have a Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Land Surveying and Photogrammetry, Geospatial Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Geospatial and Space Technology or equivalent qualifications from a recognized university;

    Chief Physical Planner

    • Initiating, preparing and monitoring the implementation of sub-county and local physical development plans;
    • Providing advice on development application and development control matters;

    Director Special Programmes

    Duties and responsibilities 

    • Coordinating the formulation of disaster management policies, strategies, guidelines standards, statutes and institutional framework;
    • Initiating and coordinating research in disaster management and dissemination of findings to the stakeholders in the county;
    • Providing advice on the development of operational standards and guidelines in disaster risk reduction and preparedness; overseeing the management and distribution of relief food, nonfood items and acting on tax exemption applications for disaster response goods and services; coordinating psychosocial support, conflict resolution and peace building;
    • Spearheading resettlement, construction and rehabilitation of destroyed homes and social amenities; initiating and overseeing the provision of non-food items and start-up capital;
    • Coordinating resource mobilization for relief and recovery, relief operations, disaster recovery and rehabilitation programmes; overseeing disaster early recovery operations for response, relief and recovery;
    • Monitoring, evaluating and approving reports on all disaster occurrences; facilitating training, advocacy and education in disaster management; overseeing the development of sustainable solutions and recovery programmes for IDPs;

    Assistant Social / Community Development Officer II

    Duties and responsibilities 

    • At this level, the Officer will be deployed in either Ward level or Sub County level. This position 
    • is responsible for Management of the Ward/ Sub County and to enlighten the community
