    Fraud Analyst

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: TYPICALLY, NOT BE MORE THAN 10

    • Constantly monitor real time queues to identify high risk/unauthorized/fraudulent transactions, and institute prompt mitigating action, including instituting appropriate hold (restriction) on accounts identified as having potentially fraudulent issues.
    • Reviewing and providing resolutions to queued transactions within the defined SLAs to reduce potential revenue losses, as well as checking daily reports and compromise alerts to track and prevent fraud.
    • Undertake research on fraud patterns by tracking confirmed fraudulent transactions and identification of trends from resolved cases and develop rules in the FMS to facilitate fraud prevention and detection, as well as recommend changes to fraud detection system parameters to optimize fraud detection while minimizing negative customer impact.
    • Contact customers, banks & Telcos by phone and email to verify transactions and resolve fraud-related account issues, and where fraud is confirmed, create a case in the Case Management system to initiate investigations and dispute management process.
    • Study market, industry and environmental trends in frauds to identify emerging fraud patterns and provide these insights to investigators and senior managers for embedding in the Bank’s overall fraud mitigation strategies.
    • Undertake Fraud awareness to facilitate appropriate understanding of fraud prevention and detection across the Bank network.
    • Prepare periodic summaries of fraud trends as appreciated from the fraud management system and related industry sources to enhance fraud management across the Bank.
    • Conduct initial analysis of suspected fraud cases reported, and appropriately escalating them for investigations, as well as providing support to the investigators during investigations.
    • Undertake Fraud Risk Assessments on identified risk areas and issue reports with recommendations as appropriate. 
    • Intelligence gathering on fraud or planned frauds and taking mitigating actions within set timelines, liaison with law enforcement agencies in respect of matters under investigations and attending court to give evidence.
    • Stakeholder engagement (both internal and external) to resolve any issues and/or share insights for purposes of fraud management generally.

    Cybersecurity Specialist, Security Testing

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: MUST NOT BE MORE THAN 10

    • Conduct regular penetration tests and vulnerability assessments on networks, web applications, and other critical infrastructure.
    • Develop, implement, and manage penetration testing schedules to identify, classify, report, and prioritize remediation of security vulnerabilities across the Group resulting in timely and effective security assessments.
    • Use a variety of tools and techniques to simulate attacks on systems and uncover vulnerabilities.
    • Develop and deliver reports on the status and effectiveness of the security testing program to internal leadership and all relevant stakeholders.
    • Perform in-depth analysis of penetration testing results and create reports that describe findings, exploitation procedures, risks, and recommendations.
    • Provide technical VAPT related support to projects in a bid to ensure compliance to technical security policies and standards. Execute penetration testing projects using the established methodology, tools, and rules of engagements.
    • Develop, research, and maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer and network vulnerabilities, data hiding, and encryption.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration with other teams and departments to enable effective defence-in-depth controls through Red Team, Purple Team and Blue Team exercises. 
    • Emulate advanced threat actors by planning, executing, and analysing complex attack scenarios. Help develop and refine tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used by adversaries.

    DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: NOT MORE THAN 5 OF THE MOST TYPICAL

    • Perform authorized attack surface reviews and penetration testing which includes internet, intranet, wireless, web application, social engineering and physical penetration testing as per schedule and on request at the direction of the Senior Managers Cybersecurity Assurance and Head, Group Cybersecurity.
    • Deliver status reports and relevant metrics on vulnerability management across the group.
    • Conduct or guide deep testing of the Groups systems to uncover security issues both manually and using automation tools as needed to support your work.

    CHALLENGES: GIVE ONE EXAMPLE OF THE CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED IN THIS JOB

    • The advancement of zero-day exploits is on the rise with little to no turn around time to identify, mitigate and remediate identified vulnerabilities. While it is common for security testers to get satisfactory result for known attacks, zero-day attacks can prove adversarial in nature due to the limited available knowledge and expertise. By virtue of the challenge, this job would require a robust well-seasoned penetration tester to stay on top and ahead of these security concerns.

    Senior Advisory Associate

    Senior Manager Advisory, Debt Markets

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Deal Execution: Work with Head of Advisory and the Managing Director, to execute debt capital markets, syndicated loans, and structured products transactions in Kenya and across the wider East African region.

    Head Counsel, Litigation

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Managing the Litigation team and ensuring excellent service provision and performance management and team motivation and development.
    • Manage all major litigation and disputes in which the Bank is a party to ensure the bank is adequately represented including appearing before any court or tribunal as a witness or to watch brief as necessary.
    • Conduct legal research, collate evidence, prepare witnesses for pre-trial and hearing, develop concept papers, prepare legal briefs and opinions as well as develop effective defence strategies, arguments and testimony in preparation for legal proceedings of cases in liaison with external lawyers. Create legal awareness and provide advice on suitable action to avert and/or minimize litigation.
    • Manage and measure external lawyers’ performance to ensure efficiency.
    • Manage litigation costs to a minimum including but not limited to negotiating suitable settlements in favour of the Bank where deemed appropriate and also scrutinizing legal fees and ensure they are raised in accordance with the Remuneration Order and Service Level Agreement.
    • Manage database of all litigation to ensure the same is consistently up-to-date and prepare relevant reports, presentations and analysis of all litigation monthly/quarterly or as may be required.
    • Manage all debt collection related matters and create legal awareness and provide advice on suitable action to avert and/or minimize litigation including ensuring all Statutory Demand Notices are issued correctly and in time.
    • Provide legal advisory to special assets team in corporate restructuring of facilities.
    • Render legal guidance to Retail branches on matters relating to bank policies, processes and procedures on all queries received with a view to mitigating legal and reputational risks.
    • Peruse, review and analyze quarterly reports and court judgments and make recommendations to the business on the findings and also take corrective action where appropriate.
    • Any other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    The preferred candidate will meet the below minimum criteria:

    • Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university.
    • Post-graduate Diploma in Law and Advocate of the High Court
    • Have at least eight (8) years' relevant post-admission work experience, including specific areas:
      • Dispute resolution, including litigation
      • Legal drafting
      • Legal communication and advocacy
      • Risk management
    • Have a high attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to effectively manage a varied calibre of stakeholders
