    Doctor’s Liaison

    Main Purpose of the Job- (Job Summary)

    To support the Clinical Services Manager in providing an enabling environment for doctors within Meridian Health Group.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain a specialists’ database and ensure complete, updated and accurate archiving of Specialist’s credentials.
    • Develop a tracking system for and ensure timely follow-up of doctors’ payments is done.
    • Link, guide and communicate with prospective specialists through the credentialing process.
    • Maintain relationships with Specialists, administrative staff for specialists and other key Specialists’ influencers and provide a clear link between these and Meridian Health Group.
    • Conduct marketing and sales calls with existing and potential Specialists as appropriate.
    • Assist in the delivery and presentation of marketing materials to specialists and prospective specialists. 
    • Ensure concerns from Specialists are collected, collated and escalated to the Clinical Services Manager and feedback on resolution and/or otherwise is communicated to respective Specialists.
    •  Act as a liaison between Specialists and Meridian Health Group to resolve problems, provide and obtain information, and maintain positive working relationships with Specialists.
    • Document all Specialists office interactions and other pertinent information in applicable databases to provide an accurate record of Specialist encounter history. 
    • Survey local primary and specialty physicians to identify potential specialists for credentialing. 
    • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

    Academic & Professional Qualifications

    • Diploma or Degree certification from a recognized institution.
    • Bookkeeping/accounting knowledge.
    • 2 years’ experience in a front office role

    Group Pharmacy Coordinator

    Main Purpose of the Job- (Job Summary)

    The Group Pharmacy Coordinator will oversee operations in all the organization’s divisions and ensure patients receive consistent, high-quality care and management of medicines. This involves setting up of system-wide standards and protocols as well as providing leadership across all of Meridian Health Group’s pharmacy services and working closely with key stakeholders across the group. 

    Managerial and Administrative

    • Develop the departmental annual business plan.
    • Develop and promote medication management and use plan with other stake holders that improve patient outcomes – including responsibility for the development of medication management policies, protocols, initiatives & guidance, and implementation of regulatory requirements. Monitor response to identified issues and facilitate resolution through the relevant organizations as required.
    • Oversee the department’s service areas performance and productivity as well as staff performance.
    • Monitor the cost of materials and work with the procurement department in the competitive quotation/tendering process to ensure the most cost-effective purchasing of stock.
    • Oversee the design, implementation and management of a safe and effective medication use system and develop and implement the department’s policies.
    • Ensure that medication use systems are developed and based on evidence-based literature and best practice standards, operate effectively and efficiently across the continuum of care, and are continuously evaluated and improved using contemporary quality-improvement methods.
    • Responsible for developing plans for the continued operation of medication-use systems, and for the provision of pharmaceutical services during emergencies and disasters.
    • Conduct thorough workforce planning exercises assuring adequate and efficient staffing of the various services and effective allocation of resources throughout the department. 
    • Manage the department including objective setting, appraisals, training, annual leave, supervision, and reflective practice.
    • Conduct regular department meetings
    • Ensure that department staff practice in accordance with technical, regulatory, and professional standards of practice.
    • Provide professional leadership for medication management processes for the organization.
    • Supervise and maintain operation of the pharmacy ensuring safe storage, accurate and efficient dispensing of medications. 
    • Develop, improve and evaluate pharmacy quality processes and methods and recommend changes as required. 
    • Establishing mutual partnerships with suppliers to enhance quality service delivery.
    • Keep track of the pharmacy margins.
    • Participate in all disciplinary processes for pharmacy staff.
    • Establish and ensure regular meetings for the Medicines and Therapeutics Committee.
    • Formulate and continuously improve pharmacy policies and procedures according to established pharmaceutical principles and regulatory requirements.
    • Supervise drug inventory procedures, inventory management, and security of drug supplies and medication storage outside of pharmacy.
    • Regularly update the pharmacy formulary in keeping with current evidence.
    • Ensure that all legal requirements are met by the Department. 
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Academic & Professional Qualifications

    • A Pharmacy Degree with 5Years’ Experience
    • A Pharmaceutical Technologist Diploma with 10Years’ Experience 
    • Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Management 
    • Experience in a similar position.
