    General Manager

    Purpose of the Role of the General Manager

    The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of the company including staff, finances, projects and initiatives that will lead to continued growth and expansion of the business. Key drive will be the ability to engage at diverse levels, integrate resources and finally ensure effective implementation of projects with the objective  of meeting the client’s stretching demands.

    The Job responsibilities of the General Manager

    • Provide the overall leadership of the business units, from business planning through to team management and seeking new opportunities for growth
    • Participate in formulating and administering company strategies, policies and directing and coordinating both the Engineering and Commercial divisions.
    • Develop and implement long-range goals and strategies to meet the business profitability growth objectives.
    • Review and analyze activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine each division’s progress towards stated goals and objectives.
    • Spearhead the delivery of the revenue targets through great innovative ideas, excellent project execution, and establishing trusting relationships with clients (existing as well as new).
    • Reviews and supports engineering and commercial divisions, to oversee design concepts with fundamental or new technology used for new or existing products or improvement to provide cost reduction, safety, customer requirements and market growth.
    • Marshal resources with real insight about what excellence looks like; take effective actions to build teams, develop a great team to deliver on performance and projects. Drive the right organization culture to achieve high productivity.
    • Operate with a clear set of strategic priorities with demonstrated ability to adjust for opportunities and obstacles over different periods of time. Play a leading role in breaking down projects and seeing through the execution and timely projects completion.
    • Clearly understands cash-flows, have the  ability to project on +4months based on appreciation of Financial Ratios, thereby pushing for greater performance, budget planning and cost control

    • Bachelors degree in a Business related course or in Engineering
    • MBA in Marketing, strategic Management or Entrepreneurship (preferred)
    • 5-7 years extensive experience in management
    • Experience in Engineering is not essential, but will be viewed as an advantage.

    Help Desk IT

    Role: Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problem, and determines and implements solution.

    The Responsibilities Include

    • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
    • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.
    • Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
    • Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
    • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
    • Clean up computers.

    Investment Manager

    Purpose of the Investment Manager Role holder

    The Investment Manager will build and manage a high performing team of investment professionals including Portfolio Manager(s), Research Analyst(s) and Assistant.

    The Investment Manager Job duties

    • Oversee the day-to-day management of investment assets including Real Estate, Equity and Debt Markets, Structured Notes, Private
    • Placements, etc. within the East Africa region and management of investment funds (including Unit Linked Funds).
    • Monitor and analyze economic trends and impact on the investment assets as well as Identify possible investment opportunities for growth.
    • Prepare annual and quarterly economic analysis and investment plans for each fund for review by the Investment Committee, including asset allocation strategy and create an approved portfolio of investments, and implement re-balancing actions in accordance with the investment policy.
    • Build, lead and coach a team of qualified investment professionals to achieve business objectives, KPI’s and financial targets and maximize investment performance and returns in accordance with the investment policies of the Group.
    • Conduct due diligence, valuations and financial modeling on potential investments opportunities.
    • Identify risk adjusted benchmarks including measurable returns and ensure the required risk parameters, reviews and monitoring processes are in place to maintain quality portfolios and provide for prudent investment decision making.
    • Working closely with the Actuarial Department to ensure proper Asset Liability Management and Modeling on an annual basis with quarterly updates. Ensure risk management within the Investment functions through implementation of appropriate risk management tools.
    • Monitor of actual performance, analyzing variances and recommending actions on a regular basis.
    • Undertake and manage traditional investment research and technical analysis to arrive at credible investment decisions for recommendation.
    • Build a culture of organizational excellence by providing strategic leadership and vision to subordinates and promote opportunities for professional growth, development and effective succession planning.
    • Ensure the company’s investment strategy and policies are in compliance with the insurance regulations in the region.

    Qualifications  for the Investment Manager

    • Bachelor Degree in finance/related studies in addition to MBA or CFA (Preferred).
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power point and investment related software.
    • Extensive senior leadership experience in investment management with a minimum of 7 years’ diversified investment experience across asset classes in the Kenyan environment.
    • Experience in the insurance industry is not essential, but will be viewed as an advantage.

    IT Security Specialist

    Role

    Responsible for Safeguarding information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems

    The Responsibilities Include

    • Participates in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards related to information security, privacy and incident response.
    • Assists with security research, analysis, and design for assigned client computing systems and the network infrastructure.
    • Provides technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions.
    • Uses tools and processes to monitor information systems for security-related events.
