    Legal Officer

    Legal Officer Job Duties

     

    • Shall assist in drafting and publication of legislative proposals forBthe County Government and its agencies on legislative and other legal matters.
    • Shall assist in negotiating, drafting, vetting and interpreting local and international treaties for and of behalf of the County Government and its agencies.
    • Shall assist in representing the County Government in court in all legal proceedings arising from County legislation or any other legislation to which the County Government is a party or has interest, other than criminal proceedings.
    • Shall assist in handling public interest litigation and represent any member of the public in matters that the Governor or the County Attorney deems to be public interest.
    • Shall assist in conjunction with the Director of Public Prosecutions, prosecute offences resulting from the County legislations in any court (other than court martials).
    • Shall be assist in advising the County Government on all matters relating to the Constitution, National legislation county legislations, international law, human rights, consumer protection and legal aid.
    • Shall perform any other functions as delegated by County Attorney.

     

    Requirements for the Legal Officer Job

     

    • Be a citizen of Kenya
    • Holds a degree in Law from a university recognized in Kenya or its equivalent
    • Post graduate diploma from Kenya School of Law.
    • Be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya
    • Have a valid practicing license.
    • Has at least three(3) years of relevant professional experience
    • Meets the requirements of leadership and integrity set out in
    • Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya

     

    Remuneration and Benefits

     

    • Basic Salary: Kshs 77,527-103,894 p.m
    • House allowance: Kshs. 21,000p.m

    Principal Administrative Officer

    Principal Administrative Officer Job Responsibilities

     

    • Reporting to the CEO/ Secretary of the County Public Service Board, the candidate will be responsible for the following:
    • Coordinating the Secretariat and the Board administrative, logistical and operational issues
    • Monitoring the Board`s decisions by maintaining an up to date implementation matrix
    • Coordinating schedules of meetings, appointment and interviews
    • Preparing the Board`s procurement plan and following up on its implementation
    • Preparing the Board’s Budget in liaison with the Finance and General Purpose Committee
    • Maintaining the Board`s Financial records
    • Assisting in preparation of expenditure and revenues in conformity with the strategic plan

    Requirements for the Principal Administrative Officer Job

     

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen
    • Be a holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce / Management or any other Social Sciences from a University recognized in Kenya
    • The candidate to have Completed CPA Part I
    • At least 6 years working in a busy office in a similar position

    County Attorney

    Duties for the County Attorney Job

    • Shall in conjunction with Commission of Administrative Justice be the Ombudsman and shall in that regard receive public complaints and may appoint such other person to represent him or to receive public complain on his behalf.
    • Shall undertake legal audits to ensure that all County and National legislations that are applicable in the County are complied with or enforced.
    • Shall be in charge of the County government printer and shall be responsible for publication of County Gazette, Bills and Acts of County Assembly.
    • Shall be the custodian of County Public Seal, contracts and other legal instruments of the County.
    • Shall perform any other functions conferred on the office by an Act of County Assembly, National Legislation or by the Governor.

     

    County Attorney Job Requirements

    County Secretary

    County Secretary Job Responsibilities

     

    • Be the Head of the Public Service
    • e responsible for arranging the business and keeping the minutes, of the County Executive Committee subject to the directions of the Executive Committee
      Convey the decisions of the County Executive Committee to the appropriate persons or authorities.
      Shall arrange the business of the County Executive Committee and keep its minutes

    • Gross Pay: Kshs 225,000 x 18,750 p.a – 243,750 x 18,750 p.a – 262,500 x 18,750 p.a -281,250 x 18,750 p.a – 300,000

    • Service Gratuity: 31% of basic salary on completion of the contract.
    • Leave: 30 days annual leave with leave allowance.
