    Steward

    Job Purpose

    Basic maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area is the responsibility of the steward, who works under the supervision of the head chef or restaurant manager.

    Steward Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Report to work in uniform at posted schedules times.
    • Ensure a clean and workable kitchen area at all times.
    • Perform general janitorial cleaning, such as sweeping and mopping floors washing worktables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
    • Restock cooks line and dining room services areas with clean dishes glasses and silverware.
    • Segregate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers.
    • Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
    • Remove and break down any boxes from kitchen and keep loading dock and dumpster area clean.
    • Make sure all washrooms are always clean at all times.
    • Properly store all cleaning supplies and equipments ie mops buckets cleaning chemicals.
    • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or use of a hand truck.
    • Follow all safety procedures at all times.
    • Assist prep cook as assigned , prepping or putting away stock as assigned.
    • Be able to change from accustomed shift to meet business demands
    • Perform other duties assigned.

    Qualifications for the Steward Job

    • At least form four certificates.
    • Have an attitude for learning.

    Cook

    Accurately and efficiently prepare, season and cook soups,meats,vegetables, desserts or other food stuff in the restaurant.. May order supplies, keep records and accounts prices items on menu or pan menu.

    Cook Job Duties and Responsibilities.

    • Cleans food preparation areas.
    • Prepares food to the specifications of the client.
    • Prepares food before the arrival of guests.
    • Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate guest with allergies or specific diet concerns.
    • Operates various kitchen appliances such as blender, oven, grill,
    • Estimates expected food consumption and organizes preparation.
    • Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service starts
    • Cleans up after business hours.
    • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
    • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
    • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchens stations.
    • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvements.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or the F&B manager.

    Skills and Specifications

    • Must have a passion and a love for food.
    • Excellent time management and organization skills.
    • Works well under pressure
    • Good attention to detail.

    Qualifications for the Cook Job

    • At least a diploma in food and beverages
    • 3 yrs relevant experience in a similar position.

    Storekeeper

    Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, administers the operations of a store. Receives, verifies stock. Maintains inventory, maintains files and prepares reports.

    Storekeeper Job Duties and Responsibilities.

    • Ensure that goods received are of quality and quantity ordered and in accordance with agreed prices.
    • To ensure that all good are stored correctly.
    • To complete all documentation and take the necessary action in cases of non delivery, substandard deliveries or overpricing.
    • To ensure maximum security of all storeroom areas, ensuring that no unauthorized person enters the stores or is issued a key allowing access.
    • To inform management and follow agreed procedures in case of spoilage or damage of any item.
    • To take stock at prescribed intervals.
    • To ensure correct stock rotation and that issues are effected on first in first out basis.

    Qualifications for the Storekeeper Job

    • At least a certificate in procurement and supply chain management.
    • At least 1-2 years working as a store keeper.
    • Time Management Skills.
    • Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
    • Computer literate.
    • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
    • Good written and spoken English.
    • Possess good analytical and observational skills.
