    Kenya Trade Network Agency (KENTRADE) is a state Agency under treasury that is mandated to facilitate cross border trade, Establish, manage and implement the Kenya National Electronic Single Window System (KNESWS). The overall objective of the National Electronic Single Window System Project is to facilitate international trade by reducing delays and lowering costs associated with clearance of goods at the Kenyan borders while maintaining the requisite controls and collection of levies, fees duties and taxes, where applicable on imports or exports.     Management Accountant

    Reports to: Finance Manager

    To prepare, Monitor, control and reporting of financial information for management decision making as well as policy implementation and ensuring statutory and legal compliance.

    Duties for the Management Accountant Job

    • Implement management accounting and financial reporting policies of the Agency under supervision of the Finance manager;
    • Posting financial information and data using relevant accounting reporting software for purposes of updating books of Accounts;
    • Preparing and presenting periodic Management Accounts and financial reports
    • Preparation of bank reconciliations;
    • Collation and preparation of annual budgets and financial projections;
    • Maintaining and updating of assets register;
      drafting of annual final accounts;
    • Preparation of audit schedules for purposes of external audit;
    • Responsible for costing, responsibility accounting, capital budgeting and depreciation
    • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the level of responsibility of this job role.

    Management Accountant Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Management, Economics or related field from a recognized University;
    • Possession of CPA (K)/ full ACCA qualifications;
    • Membership of good standing with ICPAK/ACCA;
    • At least four (4) years relevant experience in a computerized accounting environment;
    • Experience in a similar position in a Public Institution desirable.

    Duties for the Corporation Secretary Job

    Corporate Secretarial

    • Providing guidance to the Board and Board members individually on their duties, responsibilities and powers and how these should be exercised in the best interests of the organization;
    • Ensuring that board procedures are followed and reviewed regularly, and that the Board complies with the Law, rules and regulations;
    • Assisting the Chairperson in organizing Board activities, including providing The Code of Governance for State Corporations information, preparing agenda, issuing notices and preparing for meetings, board evaluations and board development programs;
    • Providing secretarial services to the Board including ensuring that the Annual Board Work Plan is prepared and adhered to, circulating board papers in advance of the
      meeting, keeping a record of attendance at meetings.
    • Coordinate Board inductions and training, Board evaluations, implementation of Board Code of conduct & Ethics.
    • Ensuring that the minutes of the Board and Board committees are promptly prepared, circulated and ensure safe custody of minutes and all Board documents;
    • Keeping the Board abreast of current governance initiatives and best practice;
    • Coordinating the governance audit process;
    • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the level of responsibility of this job role.

    Legal Affairs

    • Overseeing the legal function and providing well researched legal advice and opinion, legal interpretation on various matters and handling legislation and litigation matters relating to KenTrade;
    • Ensuring compliance with laws, rules and regulations by the Board and Management through legal audits;
    • Preparing and coordinating the implementation of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, innovations) rights policy and guidelines for the products and services at KenTrade;
    • Legal administration of Kentrade Contracts including insurance for purposes of interpretation, arbitration, termination, performance bonds etc
    • Draft, participate in negotiations of and execute (as required) legal Agreements, Memorandum of understanding and Memorandum of Collaborations and Addendums;
    • Represent the Agency in legal suits in liaison with outsourced legal service providers;
    • Monitor changes in corporate governance, relevant legislations and the regulatory environment and take appropriate action;
    • Keeping safe custody of the official seal, Contracts, legal Records and all other legal documents;
    • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the level of responsibility of this job role.

    Corporation Secretary Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university;
    • Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy or a Social Science from a recognized university;
    • Certified Public Secretary (CPS) Kenya
    • Member of the Institute of the Certified Public Secretaries Kenya (ICPSK) of good standing
    • Diploma from the Council of Legal Education (Admission to the Bar);
    • A current practicing certificate as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
    • At least eight (8) years’ experience in Legal / Corporate secretarial practice (4) four of which should be at a senior level in a reputable organization;
    • Work experience in a public sector desirable.
    • Meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution on Leadership & Integrity
    • Demonstrated use of computer applications
    • Arbitration Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ( written & oral)

    • Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
