    Sales and Marketing Manager

    The incumbent will hands-on manage a growing team of sales agents, work closely with the Operations manager and support teams, be part of the management team, report to the General Manager and operate from Kiambu county.

    This is a rare opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing company, developing and scaling a new technology and an innovative business model to bring energy to the millions at the base of the pyramid in Kenya and thus changing the lives of many Kenyan farmers.

    Sales & Marketing Job Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the sales team and all Takamoto’s sales activities across a range of sales channels, triple the monthly sales over the coming 12 months
    • Develop and execute the company’s marketing strategy, adapt along the way
    • Cooperate with selected external partners for sales opportunities
    • As part of the company’s management team, contribute to the development of a learning organisation
    • Support other (i.e. outside the sales function) employees in their own customer facing activities

    Requirements for the Sales & Marketing Job

    • At least 5 years’ experience with demonstrable results growing sales (B2C) from a small starting point
    • Very comfortable working in rural areas.
    • At least 1 year experience as a successful manager of a team with 5+ people and passionate in coaching, developing and motivating others
    • Excellent computer skills including excel
    • You live in Kiambu or are prepared and comfortable relocating there.

    • You love doing B2C sales and marketing
    • Affinity for technology and for farming, you enjoy working in rural areas,
    • Proficient in speaking Swahili and English, preferably Kikuyu as well
    • Comfortable addressing a diverse audience and winning people’s heart for your product
    • A team player, you gladly share your knowledge and expertise, you support others in their development and easily communicate across functional and hierarchical boundaries, including virtually.
    • Creative, enjoy seeking new ways of doing things and are comfortable in new territories
    • Have a commercial and analytical mind set, you are resilient, disciplined, structured and familiar with keeping good records of leads
    • Proficient with sales frameworks such as sales funnel, BANT, Net Promoter Score, Inbound/outbound
    • Familiar with sales techniques such as anchoring, social proof, and others
    • Ability to analyze sales data for improving efficiency, sales cycle, conversion
    • Have a learning attitude

    Program Coordinator

    Job Description

    The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and be primarily responsible for leading a team to implement and continuously improve the company’s service delivery.

    The Program Coordinator will play a key role in streamlining existing processes, developing new tools to improve implementation, and overseeing growth.

    The Program Coordinator will work directly with the entrepreneurs, trainers and advisors to carry out the organisation’s core mission.

    Program Coordinator Job Responsibilities

    • Lead the growth of the organisation’s current cohort of start-up businesses by coaching and advising businesses on areas such as financial tracking, growth strategy and partnership development.
    • Coordinate the training program, organizing both trainers and class schedules.Lead the consolidation, implementation, and iteration of the training curriculum, customizing and enhancing the quality of trainings being delivered
    • Coordinate training delivery and curriculum with the trainers
    • Design new program directions in response to organizational goals and field-wide trends
    • Actively test and experiment with new ideas, innovations and best practices to improve program delivery and refine the company’s model.
    • Advise the Executive Director and Board on organizational growth strategies, processes,and procedures.
    • Collaborate closely with the company’s monitoring and evaluation team, leading the program development in response to experience and measured results
    • Build relationships and partnerships with government authorities, private sector, donors, and members of civil society, elevating the company’s presence.
    • Contribute to the company’s fundraising and resource mobilization efforts to support the growth programs
    • Foster a culture of openness, learning, collaboration and innovation across the organization

    Qualifications for the Program Coordinator Job

    • Demonstrated team leadership and business development experience in a similar environment.
    • An excellent understanding of general business principles, including product development, value chains, market analysis, investment readiness and design thinking principles. Understanding of the informal sector is essential.
    • Demonstrated results-oriented management skills a must, with experience building systems in a changing environment.
    • Strong mentorship, coaching, and leadership skills necessary. Experience in curriculum development and training an advantage.
    • Learning and change-oriented mindset a must – willing to take calculated risks, think outside the box and try new ideas.
    • Demonstrated experience using data as a basis for decision-making for both program and organizational growth essential. Monitoring and evaluation or business analytics experience desirable.
    • An excellent relationship builder and communicator, both verbally and written, who enjoys being an active member of a team.
    • 4 year university degree
    • Minimum 2 years experience managing/coordinating training programs
