    Mason

    SCALE F

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must


    i.     Government Trade Test/Artisan certificate in Masonry from a recognized institution
    ii.    Served in a relevant position for at least one (1) year
    iii.   Must be below 35 years

    Duties and Responsibilities

    a)    Construct building frameworks like doorframes, windows and wall cabinets when needed to facilitate smooth operations in the institution's day to day operations
    b)    Inspects damaged masonry structures and repair them to enhance their usefulness and reduce detoriation
    c)    Select and specify the construction raw materials required to ensure the institution gets quality of required materials
    d)    Develop structures as instructed by user department and ensure the products meet the institutions functional needs
    e)    Maintain and repair masonry structures to enhance usefulness of the structures and support the institution operations
    f)    Follows laid out process and procedures in his operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
    g)    Assist students during their practicals by providing direction on handling and usage of tools
    h)    Clean the workshop and arrange the tools to create a safe and functional operating environment

    Assistant Catress

    SCALE G

    For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have;


    i.    KCSE minimum grade  of D +(Plus) and above
    ii.    Minimum KNEC Certificate in Food and Beverages or Institutional Management or Equivalent  from a reputable institution.
    iii.    At least 3 years working experience preferably in a similar institution
    iv.    Be computer literate
    v.    Must be between 30 years  and 45 years

    Duties and Responsibilities

    a)    Plan food menu for approval by the senior cateress
    b)    Assist in maintenance of general cleanliness and proper sanitation of the catering unit
    c)    Assist in stock taking and maintenance of inventory to inform preparation of the catering unit procurement plan
    d)    Assist in laundry management and maintenance of furniture and line
    e)    Provide first aid to student and staff in case of accident in the kitchen
    f)    Responsible for receipt, storage and issue of sundries to ensure control of inventory

    Science Laboratory Technician

    SCALE F

    For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have;


    i.    KCSE certificate
    ii.    KNEC in Science Laboratory Technician certificate from a recognized institution
    iii.    Served as a Lab Technician for at least one year (1) preferably in a similar institution
    iv.    Be computer literate
    v.    Must be below 35 years

    Duties and Responsibilities

    a)    Set up and dismantle apparatus and equipment for demonstration and practical lessons, as requested and detailed by teaching staff
    b)    Run trials of experiments prior to classes and then demonstrate techniques for experiments to the trainees to ensure the practical session runs smoothly
    c)    Perform demonstrations and provide technical support to the trainees during the practical
    d)    Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure that all the required equipment and chemicals are available for use when required
    e)    Requisition laboratory consumable to ensure they are replenished in atimely manner to ensure laboratory operations run smoothly
    f)    Maintain safety storage of laboratory chemicals and equipment to prevent incidences of accidents in the laboratory
    g)    Prepare a maintenance schedule for all laboratory equipment for approval by the section head to ensure that all laboratory equipment are in good working condition.
    h)    Ensure safe disposal of laboratory waste as per the occupational safety and health standards
    i)    Observe and ensure health and safety procedures are practiced  and enforced and all accidents are reported to the section head.
    j)    Advise the section head on the budgeting requirement for the laboratory to ensure that all the laboratory requirement are factored in the budget t promote smooth                   trainings
    k)    Maintain all requisite record on the use of various laboratory equipment and chemicals for accountability and future reference
    l)    Segregate non-functional equipment and machine to ensure safety in the laboratory and ensure they are disposed per the safety disposal guideline
    m)    Report any breakdown of equipment to the section head for purposes of decision making on replacements
    n)    Supervise cleaning of the laboratory and equipment therein to ensure efficient operation of the laboratory
    o)    Keep up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments that will save on time and improve reliability

    Agriculture Technician

    SCALE G

    For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have;


    i.     KCSE certificate
    ii.    Minimum KNEC Certificate in General Agriculture
    iii.    At least 3 years working experience in a large farm
    iv.    Be computer literate
    v.    Must be below 35 years

    Duties and Responsibilities

    a)    Provide support to trainers and trainees in solving technical problems and practicals

    Librarian Assistant

    SCALE G

    For appointment to this grade a candidate must be in possession of;


    i.    KCSE with a minimum grade of C- (Minus)
    ii.    Minimum KNEC Certificate in Library  and Information Sciences.
    iii.    Experience in use of IT in Library operations in an academic library is mandatory.
    v.    Have one (1) year experience preferably in an educational institution.
    vi.    Be below 35 years

    Duties and Responsibilities

    a)    Lend and collect books, periodicals, videotapes, and other materials at circulation desk
    b)    Sort books, publications, and other items according to established procedure and return them to shelves, files , or other designated storage areas.
    c)    Inspect returned books for condition and due-date status, and compute any applicable fines.
    d)    Provide assistance to librarians in the maintenance of collections of books, periodicals, magazines, newspaper, and audiovisual and other materials.
    e)    Catalogue all new information materials to ensure that they are well placed in the shelves for ease accessibility by the users
    f)    Classify books and material on the shelf and reference for easy retrieval by library users
    g)    Track all the enquiries received in the institution by post, email, personal visit and by telephone in consultation with the Librarian
    h)    Responsible to open and close the library as per operational guidelines at the institution

    Registry Clerk

    SCALE G

    For appointment to this grade a candidate must be in possession of;


    i.    At least  KCSE C- (minus) or its equivalent.
    ii.    A Diploma in Computer Studies or ICT with good knowledge of Coral Drawing and Microsoft Publisher
    iii.    Must have served in a Registry  office setting for at least one year (1) preferably in a similar institution
    iv.    Must have knowledge of the use of office equipment like, photocopies, scanners etc.
    v.    Must be below 35 years.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    a)    Compiling of statistical records to support document and information retrieval
    b)    Sorting filing and dispatching letters for efficient communication
    c)    Maintain an efficient file system for easy retrieval of documents
    d)    Gather, materials to be filed from employees and departments to ensure up to date records
    e)    Find retrieve and make copies of information from files in response to requests and deliver information to authorized users.
    f)    Trace movement of files to ensure borrowed files are returned.
