    Coffee Roaster

    Coffee Roaster Job Responsibilities

    • Operate a coffee roasting machine including removing moisture from coffee beans, weighing batches of coffee beans in a scale hopper and feeding the beans into the roasting oven maintaining proper temperature and estimating the optimal roasting time
    • Regular roaster machine maintenance and cleaning
    • Recording roasting amounts, types, and blends of roasted coffee beans.
    • Responsible for roasting samples and hosting cuppings and quality control
    • Maintaining Daily Roast, Quality Control, and Cupping reports
    • Liaise with head of coffee to improve the inventory accuracy and forecasting, along with consistency in roasting profiles.
    • Liaise with Sales manager to ensure proper and complete information for the product
    • Cupping with our coffee procurement officer for purchasing decisions
    • Serve as the in-house coffee expert and resource for customer coffee questions.

    Qualifications for the Coffee Roaster Job

    • At least 1 year of experience in roasting coffee
    • Professional certification in coffee roasting such as SCAA Roaster Pathway Program a plus
    • The ability to assess coffee quality objectively; identify, evaluate and articulate the attributes of the coffee;
    • detect any defects in the coffee
    • Communicate coffee characteristics using accepted industry terminology
    • Multi-tasking skills and problem solving skills.

    Sales and Marketing Manager

    Sales and Marketing Manager Job Responsibilities

    • Conducting outbound sales calls to cold and warm leads.
    • Confidently handling inbound sales calls.
    • Managing new and existing customers on CRM tools.
    • Taking and processing orders accurately.
    • Maintaining relationships with existing customers, whilst expanding to new customers.
    • Liaising with other team members, e.g. coffee procurement officer to source coffee and send sample to potential clients.
    • Act as an ambassador of the company to promote our product and social impact project.
    • Prepare accurate sales reports and report against indicated targets.

    Qualifications for the Sales and Marketing Manager Job

    • Has at least 2 years of experience in field selling, experience in coffee industry a plus
    • A proven track record of sales, confident and self-motivated with relationship building skills.
    • Strong IT skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Puts the customer at the heart of the sale
    • Positive and Enthusiastic Attitude
    • Driving Licence would be a plus

    Coffee Procurement Officer

    Procurement Officer Job Responsibilities

    • Identify and select the relevant coffee for direct sales.
    • Travel and visit farmers, document and photograph the farms and capture the farmer information
    • Identify new farmers and manage relationships with farmers
    • Act as an ambassador of our company to promote our social impact and mission to the farmers
    • Manage and maintain a database of farmers, with information about the volume and the quality of the coffee produced
    • Negotiate the price of the coffee and purchasing contracts
    • Liaise with Head of coffee and the Sales team to manage coffee inventory, quality control and production of promotional materials
    • Liaise with other team members in shipping and processing

    Qualifications for the Procurement Officer Job

    • Bilingual (English and Swahili)
    • Strong communication skills, including writing skills
    • Strong IT skills, including MS word and excel; experience in blogging, photo editing, video production would be a plus
    • Experience in the coffee industry and agronomy (a plus)
    • Experience in coffee logistics, trade & business
    • A love of photography would be a plus
    • Driving License would be preferred
