    Head of Finance

    We are currently recruiting in Kenya for our client a leading Multinational company . The Head of Finance role is to direct and oversee all of the financial activities, overall financial management and systems, to include the preparation of current financial reports and forecasts for future business growth and oversee accounting, costing, procurement, tax planning as well as develop strategies to maximize return on investment.
    Responsibilities

    Monitoring, Controlling and Reporting:

    • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of management reports, financial reports, audit, tax returns and reports for Government regulatory agencies.
    • Put the necessary financial plans in place, including budgets and implementing appropriate budgetary controls.
    • Develop financial models and systems for the specific company business to enable efficient monitoring of costs, business processes and profitability.
    • Support other cost centres in budgets development.
    • Prepare cash flow forecasts and analysis, monitor working capital and convey these analyses to the CEO and recommend on corrective actions where needed
    • Manage cash balances by initiating/executing appropriate actions including the investment of cash and inter-account transfers.
    • Drive treasury management activities including foreign currency hedging, cash flow management, the investment of excess cash and management of company borrowings to enable the company to meet its financial obligations at all times.
    • Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, budgets, salary updates, ledger, payroll, account maintenance and data entry
    • Analyse and review aged accounts, accounts receivable, sales policy compliance, and make recommendations for improvement.
    • Analyse and recommend methods to improve cost effectiveness.
    • Ensure adherence to limits/covenants contained in signed agreements with shareholders, financiers, clients and other key partners (e.g. limits for capital investments).
    • Ensure compliance with local and national regulatory requirements: Check contracts for compliance, inform appropriate personnel about regulatory requirements, and monitor the company’s compliance.
    • Ensure compliance with both local and (where applicable) international accounting principles and the company’s Finance Manual.
    • Present the financial performance reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.

    Supporting Business:

    • Support the company’s strategic planning and business review process as key member of the leadership team.
    • Contribute to the achievement of the company objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy.
    • Maintaining relationships with the company’s banks, suppliers and other service providers so as to ensure that the company receives timely, quality and cost efficient services at all times.
    • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning and forecast initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
    • Provide advice on pricing and capacity management strategy.
    • Participate in developing new business and identify new financing opportunities.
    • Assess the long term financial trends and review prospects for future growth of income and new product areas, and pinpoint potential weak areas.
    • Act as primary liaison with the company secretary.

    Overseeing Accounting Systems and Procedures:

    • Continually review and upgrade accounting systems and procedures in line with the company’s operating systems, internal control requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with taxation laws, including accurate computation, declaration and timely payment.
    • Oversee the coordination and activities of the external auditor and ensure all audit issues are resolved.
    • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
    • Review and improve finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
    • Coordinate company insurance, contracts and agreements, and legal areas and activities.
    • With the CEO develop and implement risk management policies.

    Managing finance department:

    • Setting and evaluating performance standards for departmental staff.
    • Manage, motivate, recruit, select and evaluate financial staff.
    • Provide guidance and training to financial staff in order to further improve their overall financial knowledge.

    Qualifications

    • Full professional Accounting Qualification.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field is MANDATORY.
    • Master’s degree or equivalent.
    • Must be a registered professional of good standing with a relevant body
    • Min of ten (10) years’ post qualification progressive experience.
    • Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment is MANDATORY

    Finance Controller

    We are currently recruiting for our client a Leading supply chain COMPANY .

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise the Finance Dept
    • Review and approve vouchers – petty cash, cheque payments, suppliers, internal transfers.
    • Authorize payments – sign cheques and funds transfer instructions to company’s bankers.
    • Act as the company’s interface with bankers and the liaison on administrative matters.
    • Confirm manually initiated funds transfers,
    • Authorize purchases ( signing LPOs)
    • Administer and approve staff leave requests
    • Implement/enforce management directives regarding staff/admin matters for the team you supervise
    • Manage petty cash floats (various currencies) for the company and for the various departments
    • Review returns and authorize re-imbursements.
    • Liaise with other heads of departments and senior management on day to day issues , e.g. authorization/allocation of expenses, etc.
    • Ensure that the general ledger accounts and disbursements files are regularly monitored and fully explained at the end of the month.
    • Download monthly results per cost centre from the Financial Reporting System and investigate variations from budgeted amounts.
    • Support heads of departments (ops) in generating their monthly statistics and expense analysis.
    • Complete the consolidation package for purposes of reporting to Head office.
    • Involvement in the annual budget preparation

    Qualifications

    • Fully qualified accountant e.g. CPA (K)/ACCA/etc.
    • MBA AN added advantage
    • Degree in business related discipline
    • Experience in direct involvement of working with ERP systems
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Finance Manager in a large organization.

    Responsible for the execution of the marketing campaigns, as well as ongoing customer engagement and brand tracking across our social and digital media platforms.

    Responsibilities

    • Constantly monitor our digital and social media footprint and respond to customer comments and feedback within the framework of global brand guidelines.
    • Collaborate with the regional marketing offices and Franchisee leadership to develop communication campaign windows through traditional media.
    • Interact with agency partners to localize creative content for in-store and outdoor communication and printed materials, while ensuring brand standards are maintained.
    • Effect successful communication strategies through the purchase of traditional above the line media and digital/social platform advertising through our local media and agency partners.
    • Study, analyze and report on traditional and digital marketing initiatives of our competitors.

    Qualifications

    • Give the necessary support to the external auditors to facilitate finalization of the year end financial statements.
    • Control the tax file for the company vis a vis records maintained by the company’s tax consultants and the Kenya Revenue Authority, and to follow up on
    • VAT and corporation tax issues with the company’s tax consultants.
    • Ensure conformity with tax regulations by remitting statutory deductions within the stipulated time limits, ensuring the necessary amounts are with held where necessary and remitted to the tax authorities.
    • Control & approve the bank/petty cash reconciliation
    • Follow up and validate credit notes.
    • Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by management
