    Marketing Manager

    Job Description

    The Company Our client, Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has the mandate to market Kenya at local, national, regional and international levels as a premier tourist destination. KTB is looking to recruit exceptional, highly competent and professional individual to fill the position of Marketing Manager.

    Overall Purpose

    • Reporting to the Marketing Director, as the Marketing Manager you may be deployed to manage regional markets, manage exhibitions & events or online marketing.
    • Key Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement KTB’s online marketing and advertising strategy in line with its overall strategy;
    • Ensure proper implementation of the Kenya market strategy in the markets and monitor its implementation in the Public Relations and advertising;
    • Gather continuous market intelligence from the region to inform future strategy;
    • Identify the marketing communications channels appropriate for the marketing region;
    • Identify process improvements that reduce cost, improve quality and allow for the more efficient usage of organizational resources in the region;
    • Identify opportunities (supported by Market Development Representative (MDRs) for Kenyan tourism in their source market (potential retailers, consumer segments, new media, etc.);
    • Collaborate with Business Development Manager in the preparation of plans and monitor the implementation of actions;
    • Identify opportunities for cross-market sales to increase revenues;
    • Liaise with various stakeholders in joint marketing programmes in the region in order to promote Kenya as a premier tourist destination;
    • Develop and implement exhibitions concepts and design that inspire the world to visit Kenya;
    • Monitor and evaluate exhibitions effectiveness as a marketing tool; and
    • Manage editorial content on various online assets managed by KTB to ensure updated and consistent messaging.

    Key Qualifications and Experience

    • Nine (9) years’ experience in a relevant field.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

    OR

    • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized institution and Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from a recognized institution;
    • Master’s Degree in any of the following: Marketing, Tourism Management, Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized institution
    • Member of recognized professional body.

    Applicants with qualifications and experience in digital marketing and events & exhibitions are encouraged to apply.

    Strategy and Compliance Manager

    Job Description

KTB is looking to recruit exceptional, highly competent and professional individual to fill the position of Strategy and Compliance Manager.

    Overall Purpose:

    • Reporting to the Director of Research and Strategy, the Strategy and Compliance Manager you will be overall responsible for coordinating the development of the corporate strategy and ensuring compliance in its implementation.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the development of the corporate strategy plan to ensure it responds to the national strategy and tourism sector plans including Vision 2030;
    • Oversee the development and implementation of KTB’s Corporate and Destination strategy;
    • Forge strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to evaluate and recommend destination development initiatives that improve the tourism offering in Kenya and result in increased arrivals and tourism receipts;
    • Develop a framework for monitoring and evaluating performance of the tourism sector;
    • Develop and implement appropriate tools for cascading, monitoring and evaluating the delivery of the corporate and destination strategy;
    • Identify the organizational targets for consideration in the performance contract to ensure achievement of the overall organisation’s strategy;
    • Be the link between Kenyan industry and KTB (Kenya Tourist Board) in monitoring of quality and standards of the tourism product and advise as necessary;
    • Lobby for the development and implementation of favorable transport policies for purposes of increasing air access into Kenya and improving the air transport facilitation;
    • In consultation with line management and staff, developing a change management strategy;
    • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to influence the development of public policy at the local regional and national levels that are supportive of the delivery of KTB’s mandate and
    • Consistent with KTB’s broader communication plans and industry targets, work with department and unit heads to ensure public policies affecting tourism development and marketing are communicated both internally and externally.

    Key Qualifications and Experience

    • Nine (9) years relevant experience three (3) of which should be in management position.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Tourism, Marketing, Business Administration or its equivalent
    • Master’s Degree in Strategic Management, Economics, Tourism, Marketing, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in project management, monitoring and evaluation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
    • Applicants who possess a certificate in a Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution will have an added advantage

    Overall Purpose

    • Key Roles & Responsibilities Develop and implement of KTB’s Research strategy, policies, mission and vision;
    • Provide strategic direction for research related innovation to optimize KTB‘s competitive advantage both locally, regionally and internationally;

    • Present regular market intelligence reports to top management;
    • Support the assessment of market or product opportunities through delivery of relevant and timely market intelligence;
    • Supervise the collecting, data entry, filtration, analysis and dissemination of international arrivals;
    • Monitor and evaluation of marketing performance;
    • Identify process improvements in Research that reduce cost, improve quality and allow for the more efficient usage of organizational resources;
    • Ensure full implementation of the Quality Management System within the Research unit and
    • Manage ad hoc research requests from other department.

    Key Qualifications and Experience

    • Nine (9) years relevant experience three (3) of which should be in management position.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Research Applications, Mathematics, Statistics & Economics or its equivalent.
    • Master’s Degree in Research Applications, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration or its equivalent.
    • Membership to a relevant Professional Body.

    • Key Roles & Responsibilities Review and implement Human Resource and Administration strategies, policies and procedures to ensure KTB has optimal competencies and capabilities human resources;
    • Strengthen seamless interdepartmental linkages by ensuring that human resource is effectively used to support the business objectives of KTB to increase productivity and increase results in order to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction;
    • Approve work plans and budgets for the Directorate for approval;
    • Advise the Board on all matters pertaining to Human Resource and administration;

    • Spearhead the recruitment of staff within the organization and participate in the development and review of the Institution’s strategic plan;

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognized institution.

    OR

    • Bachelor’s degree in any field with a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management
    • Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
    • Be a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management.

    Key Qualifications and Experience

    • Twelve (12) years relevant experience, five (5) of which should be in senior management position.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or related field.
    • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or related field.
    • Certified Public Accountants CPA (K) or its equivalent qualification.
    • Member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
