    Products Coordinator

    Reporting to the Manager, Speciality Products, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the coordination of special projects undertaken by KTDA such as trade certification programs, TVAP and Bespoke manufacture projects/products.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in developing and gaining approval of specialty tea and trade certification strategies in areas of pricing, and communication.
    • Identify and develop potential customers for specialty teas in the primary market.
    • Coordinate contractual agreements between KTDA and Specialty teas customers.
    • Prepare sales performance reports against production and demand forecasts and recommend appropriate action.
    • Coordinate specialty tea quality evaluation and benchmarking.
    • Coordinate product improvement and development activities targeted at specialty tea markets.
    • Coordinate trade certifications in liaison with Operations department and other relevant departments on issues related to trade certification.
    • Respond to customers’ issues related to trade certification and specialty tea after consulting the manager
    • Compiling reports on trade certifications for distribution to relevant users.
    • Liaise with buyers on issues that relate to their specific projects and products.
    • Ensure declaration of premiums for all trade/sales of certified teas to both the factories and feedback to buyers.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –

    • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Marketing or business related field.
    • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience, 2 (two) of which must be in tea manufacturing.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good supervisory and coordination skills
    • Must demonstrate high integrity and ethics
    • Must demonstrate ability to work independently and effectively with minimum supervision.
    • Must demonstrate ability to multitask.
    • Must be a flexible person, who is willing to learn and able to work flexible hours to achieve goals
    • Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages

    Legal Officer

    Reporting to the Head of Legal & Regulatory Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing litigation, contract preparation and providing legal advisory on compliance in all organization’s operations and advice on appropriate course of action.

    Responsibilities

    • Reviewing progress of outstanding litigation and liaising with and managing external lawyers;
    • Formulating compliance check-lists to be used for the purpose of ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly;
    • Maintaining records of contracts, leases, loan agreements and the covenants therein;
    • Providing timely information on renewals or termination of agreements;
    • Drawing up contracts, lease documents, loan agreements and other legal documents;
    • Liaising with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken;
    • Providing legal protection and risk management and advising management on contract processes;
    • Providing and interpreting legal information, conducting training and disseminating appropriate legal requirements to staff;
    • Preparing, reviewing and modifying contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities;
    • Negotiating, reviewing and drafting documentation for business transactions and advising on the necessary checklist to be adopted to ensure information is submitted on time;
    • Ensuring the undertaking of due diligence searches on behalf of KTDA Group and, Factories, also liaising with an external legal counsel as required;
    • Ensuring the follow up of all court cases facing the Group Holdings and attend court hearings where necessary, follow up of Judgements and costs on behalf of the KTDA Group.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –

    • A Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution;
    • A Certified Public Secretary;
    • Member of ICPSK in good standing
    • An advocate of the High Court
    • Member of Law Society of Kenya with a current practicing certificate
    • A Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Kenya School of Law;
    • A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience;
    • Should have thorough knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector;
    • Must have ability to plan, organize, implement and evaluate assigned goals;
    • Must demonstrate ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines;
    • Should have strong analytical and be result oriented;
    • Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice;
    • Must be capable of functioning effectively both as a team player and a team leader;
    • Must have management skills;
    • Must have ability to accurately plan work assignments, prioritize tasks and deliver deadlines;
    • Should have problem solving and decision making abilities;
    • Should be an effective communicator with the ability to handle both internal and external communication;

    Sales Manager

    Reporting to the Assistant Manager -Sales Auction, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating Mombasa Auction Sales with validation and allocation of available KTDA tea stocks to the Mombasa Tea Brokers.

    Responsibilities

    • Validate accuracy of all stock details whether the stock is in transit, warehouse and the factory.
    • Allocation of auction teas to the brokers as approved.
    • Check all auction catalogues for accuracy and completeness.
    • Ensuring timely dispatch of product samples, weight notes and warrants to Brokers as per approved procedures.
    • Attending to auction customer’s complaints and enquiries as and when required.
    • Communicating and coordinate with factories on quality complaints and sample discrepancies received from the auction customers.
    • Preparing timely and accurate weekly and monthly reports and distributing to users.
    • Ensuring that brokers receive information on available teas based on production trends on timely basis.
    • Receive and post all auction prices for all factories.
    • Continuously liaise with warehouse team to assess quantity of tea available for sale.
    • Validate post-auction prices for use by direct sales team (DSO/DSL including KETEPA)
    • Quarterly preparations of buyers’ analysis reports per grade/factory for all auction sales.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Marketing or business related field.
    • Minimum four (4) years of experience in Tea Manufacture, Trading or warehousing.
    • Must have high level analytical skills.
    • Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice
    • Must demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
    • Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams
    • Must demonstrate commitment to operational effectiveness
    • Must have the ability to communicate for both written and oral communication
    • Must be a flexible person, who is willing to learn and able to work flexible hours to achieve goals
    • Must have knowledge in use of MS office packages
