    2026/2027 Young Professionals

    The objective of the YP Programme is to develop young professionals in public policy research and offer them an opportunity to gain on-the-job experience, expand their knowledge and build professional networks.  Young Professionals are placed for one year in the following Research Divisions with a requirement to focus their research in one of the areas covered by the respective Divisions including the following:

    • Macroeconomics Division
    • Modelling Division
    • Statistics Division
    • Predictive Analytics Division
    • Social Sector Division
    • Nutrition and Dietetics Sector Division
    • Governance Division
    • Gender and Special Group Division
    • Infrastructure and Economic Services Division
    • Trade and Foreign Policy Division
    • Private Sector Development Division
    • Productive Sector Division

    Job Specification

    Qualifications for admission to the Programme

    For admission into the programme, the following are the minimum qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree;
    • Be below 35 years of age;

    Competencies

    • Have strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and be results-oriented;
    • Be computer literate including knowledge in at least a statistical package (R, STATA, SPSS, E-VIEWS, etc.);
    • Should have good interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Be fluent in English;
    • Be persons legally living in the country at the time of participating in the programme

    In addition, Successful candidates will be required to obtain clearance from the following institutions:

    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
    • Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
    • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
    • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
    • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
