Automotive Design Engineer at Frank Management Consult Ltd

Position will be an integral part of one of the various vehicle product engineering teams. The Successful Candidate will be responsible for design and release for production changes and improvements on any part of the vehicle series, due to current product improvement efforts and/or new product development plans.

S/He will be tasked with identifying and resolving design issues that result in assembly or warranty issues, meeting all release dates and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Keep up to date on trends and developments in product design from vendor contacts, workshop and meetings, industry and contacts.
• Collaborate with marketing to translate customer requirements into engineering based requirements
• Collaborate with other internal R&D groups to create new products and solutions
• Create, modify, analyze, and maintain the engineering design of assigned products, systems and components.
• Determine and apply new techniques, materials and procedures beneficial to assigned product designs.
• Direct, and analyze results of tests on prototype and production machines.
• Participate and assist in planning of product specifications, timelines, resource requirements.
• Prepare and participate in product engineering presentations to vendors, customers and other departments.
• Responsible for document and release design cycle
• Support program timing, engineering processes, tracks issues, and resolve clashes
• Support the engineering team by performing CAD studies, conducting analysis and preparing reports
• Work with other departmental functions (service, production, tooling, marketing, etc.) in completion of assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Automotive Option Preferred
• 2 Years’ experience with product design in the automotive industry
• Experience with general CAD design, tolerance analysis, value engineering principles, and parts standardization principles
