Accounts Assistant – Nakuru at Summit Recruitment and Search

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, verifying the accuracy of financial forms, payments, and transactions.
• Provide support with month-end and year-end closing balances, ensuring all financial deadlines are met.
• Assist in the preparation of payroll, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of salaries.
• Handle the monthly remittance of statutory deductions (e.g., SHIF, NSSF, PAYE), ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments within the school to ensure smooth financial operations and the efficient allocation of resources.
• Provide support during internal and external audits, assisting the finance team with audits, financial reviews, and reports.
• Monitor the budget and expenditures, flagging discrepancies where necessary.
• Perform any other duties within the candidate’s capabilities.
• Assist in daily reconciliation as well as bank reconciliation.

Qualifications:

• Must have a relevant bachelor’s in Finance or any other related field.
• Must have 2 years and above working experience.
• Proficient in using financial software and tools.
• Hands on with integrity and interpersonal skills.
