    Data Analyst (Global Data Hub)

    Tasks and Responsibilities 

    • Perform statistical analyses (e.g. regression, clustering, forecasting, hypothesis testing) using tools such as Power BI, Python, or R with openness to large-language methods 
    • Translate analytical objectives into clear data requirements and collaborate with data engineers to access suitable datasets 
    • Develop analytical frameworks, KPIs, and indicators to evaluate organizational and program performance 
    • Interpret and clearly communicate findings through reports, dashboards, and executive summaries 
    • Ensure data quality, validation, and consistency in all analytical outputs 
    • Advise on analytical use cases and data structures within the Global Data Hub 
    • Collaborate with Business Analysts to design advanced Power BI reports, including predictive and statistical elements 
    • Collect, analyze, and document system and data requirements of English/French speaking Member Associations  
    • Support and mentor colleagues in data literacy and interpretation of analytical results 
    • Ensure compliance with data protection, security, and ethical data usage standards 
    • Provide support and consulting to French- and English-speaking Member Associations to enable them to succeed in their data project and allow them get the most out of Global Data Hub 

    Responsibilities to Uphold Safeguarding (standards) and Promote a Safe Environment 

    As someone working for or on behalf of SOS Children’s Villages, you are responsible for helping to create and maintain a safe and protective environment for staff, as well as for the children, young people, and adult programme participants supported and cared for by SOS Children’s Villages. You are expected to:

    Requirements 

    • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field 
    • 5–7+ years of experience in applied statistics or business analysis 
    • Ability to analyze and understand business data requirements and translate them to technical requirements 
    • Strong expertise in analytical tools and methods (Power BI, Python, R, Excel) 
    • Proven experience in statistical modeling, forecasting, and segmentation 
    • Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills 
    • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, and governance concepts 
    • Fluent English and French (C1/C2) 
    • Ability to explain complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences 
    • Ideally experience in non-profit contexts, including impact measurement, donor reporting 

    Technical Skills 

    • Strong expertise in analytical tools and methods (Power BI, Python, R, Excel) 
    • Proven experience in statistical modeling, forecasting, and segmentation 
    • Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills 
    • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, and governance concepts
