Key Requirements:

• Always immediately and proactively report any issue related to the quality/ freshness of ingredients.
• Guarantees that all ingredients are stored and labelled according to SOPs.
• Verifies personal hygiene standards of all staff during his/her shift.
• Assist the Chef to prepare the team’s schedule to meet quality & operating expenses targets.
• Organizes workflow in the kitchen during his/her shift.
• Guarantees that all menu items are prepared in accordance with the recipes, SOPs & policies n during his shift.
• Coache staff where necessary.
• Ensures all kitchen tasks are performed on time & meeting the quality standards during his/her shift.
• Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace and of the staff are of the highest standard.
• Develop and apply standard operating procedures.
• Lead and motivate team members to create a team environment which promotes good employee morale.
• Approves products requisition during his shift.

Qualifications:

• Must have a degree in a relevant discipline.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef
• A natural leader, with ability to get the best from a team.
• A good communicator, friendly and inclusive, even after a long shift.
• Strong knowledge of high-end restaurant set up.
• Ability to stay calm and collected under pressure, being a calming influence on the team.
