    HR Officer – Kapenguria, West Pokot

    The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in HR management and be able to effectively manage a dynamic workforce, including casual and seasonal workers. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of HR policies and practices, and the ability to thrive in a remote setting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate recruitment for permanent, casual, and seasonal roles; manage onboarding and induction for new hires.
    • Handle disciplinary issues, conflict resolution, and grievance procedures while maintaining positive relations with employees, community leaders, and government bodies.
    • Maintain accurate personnel files and HR documentation; ensure compliance with labour laws, regulations, and internal policies.
    • Implement and monitor performance appraisal systems; support supervisors in goal setting and employee evaluations.
    • Identify training needs and implement programs, especially for casual and seasonal staff; promote cross-training and productivity improvement.
    • Manage recruitment, time tracking, contracts, and separation for seasonal/casual workers in line with production needs.
    • Address absenteeism, lateness, and misconduct; promote worker welfare and enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with regulations.

     Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in HR, with formal training in HR matters.
    • Proactive, outgoing, and capable of building strong relationships with factory workers and supervisors.
    • Ability to manage seasonal and casual workers effectively.
    • Comfortable living and working in a remote location.
    • Preference will be given to male candidates due to logistical considerations.
