    Operations and Maintenance Manager

    The Role

    Reporting to the General Manager KTPC, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the KTPC and RPCs functions and overseeing their operations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Participating in the formulation and review of the company’s strategic plan as well as policies.
    • Coordinating implementation of other alternative forms of energy and power initiatives.
    • Responsible for the formulation and execution of the annual budget for the company.
    • Ensuring the projects are developed to high standards and operated within the environmental and regulatory frameworks.
    • Reviewing of feasibility studies, project reports, tender documents, tender reports, contract documents, etc.
    • Responsible for the preparation of Terms of Reference for external consultants.
    • Planning, implementing, and coordinating delivery strategies for the power project rollout plan.
    • Overseeing the power development rollout and overall business development initiatives.
    • Projecting management services and coordinating consultancy services.
    • Coordinating tender action process and procurement of services.
    • Ensuring payments to Contractors and Consultants are made.
    • Ensuring smooth operations of the power stations.
    • Supervising, and appraising staff and identifying their development and training needs.
    • Preparing Board papers, Management, and project status reports.

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical Engineering.
    • Post graduate qualification in related field will be an added advantage.
    • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, three (3) of which should be at a Senior Management level.Be registered by the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK).
    • Ability to handle departmental budgets, resources, processes, projects, and relationships.
    • Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector.
    • Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the company’s goals.
    • Ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines.
    • Should have strong analytical skills and be result-oriented.
    • Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice.
    • Must be capable of functioning effectively both as a team player and a team leader.
    • Must have management and Leadership skills.
