    Learning & Development Specialist

    What You Will Be Doing

    • Create and execute learning strategies and programs.
    • Evaluate individual and organizational development needs.
    • Implement various learning methods companywide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training).
    • Act as product manager for learning systems, shepherding them from design through systems and tools development, training of trainers through delivery and measuring outcomes.
    • Design training and learning approaches which are optimized for effectiveness, scalability, and cost including hybrid learning (best use of in person, live remote sessions, and independent learning across a program).
    • Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
    • In partnership with internal and external subject matter experts, create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer.
    • Work with subject matter experts and identify the target audience's training needs based on clearly defined, measurable outcomes and learning objectives.
    • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product.
    • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
    • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods for adult learners.
    • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
    • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc).
    • Monitor and report on agreed interim indicators and outcomes to stakeholders for each learning program/product, including ROI, on at least a quarterly basis..
    • Maintain project documentation and course folders
    • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices in vocational training and adult learning.

    What You Need To Have To Be Successful

    • 5+ years experience in a similar full-time role in a busy start up or innovative organization that cares deeply about people development.
    • A Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, education, business, or a related field. or a related field.
    • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
    • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-class training, adult learning, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc) field (additional L&D training or experience is a plus).
    • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
    • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
    • You have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and strong work ethics.
    • Experience in project management and budgeting
    • Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
    • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
    • Ability to build rapport with employees
    • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
    • Professional certification (e.g. CPLP) is a plus
