The Talent Placement & Engagement Lead will play a pivotal role in driving the employability and placement success of PLP’s alumni and talent community. The role blends technical recruitment, talent employability readiness, employer relationship management, and community engagement to ensure building a 100% market-ready talent pool across Africa. The Lead will oversee talent readiness assessments, manage employer and employee relationships, and provide continuous engagement for both talents and employers.
The role requires a dynamic, data-driven professional who thrives at the intersection of recruitment, program delivery, and ecosystem engagement.
Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Placement & Readiness
- Ensure PLP maintains a consistently 100% market-ready talent pool by running structured employment readiness programs after each cohort.
- Design and manage assessments to evaluate technical, professional, and employability skills through the provided platform.
- Deliver quarterly career readiness webinars covering industry insights, job search strategies, and professional skills.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment support for internal and external placement needs, including sourcing, screening, assessments, and interview facilitation.
- Collaborate with the Talent Hub team to align talents with projects, internships, and job opportunities.
Employer & Client Partnerships
- Manage new hiring clients across internships, volunteer programs, projects, and full-time employment to ensure they receive high-quality talent.
- Build and sustain long-term employer partnerships through regular check-ins, surveys, and satisfaction review feedback.
- Work with the Talent hub lead and Partnerships team to co-create MOUs, employer activations, and joint initiatives.
- Secure new hiring clients across internships, volunteer programs, projects, and full-time employment
Community & Ecosystem Engagement
- Actively engage with PLP alumni and learners to strengthen community belonging and career progression.
- Represent PLP Talent Hub at conferences, hackathons, and ecosystem events to promote talent services and strengthen visibility.
- Assist in organising employer webinars, talent showcases, and networking events to connect alumni with opportunities.
Marketplace & Platform Management
- Oversee the adoption and performance of the PLP Talent Hub marketplace and matching platforms.
- Ensure active service listings, seamless functionality, and high engagement from both talent and employers.
- Collaborate with the technical team to troubleshoot and optimize the platform for matching efficiency.
Data, Reporting & Insights
- Deliver biweekly data coverage:
- Talent skills distribution and readiness.
- Placement success rates and conversion metrics.
- Employer engagement levels and satisfaction scores.
- Marketplace activity and performance.
- Consolidate structured feedback from employers and talents to refine processes and inform training programs.
- Provide insights to management on trends, challenges, and opportunities within the tech talent ecosystem.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, and Computer Science,
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in technical recruitment, workforce development, or talent placement.
- Demonstrated success in sourcing, screening, and placing candidates in tech roles.Experience working within the tech ecosystem, startups, or the digital economy.
- An established network within the tech/employer community is highly desirable.
