The WASH Officer will be required to collaborate closely and ensure regular communication with the National Ministries of Education, Health and Water. At county level these line ministry relationships will also be important for the effective and timely implementation of the WASH in Institutions and Sanitation components of the WASH programme. The WASH Officer will need to make use of data available on the school and Health Care Facility WASH situation, ensure the availability of hygiene (including Menstrual Hygiene Management) promotion materials, and support the identification and supervision of implementing partners including contractors, county government officers, and NGOs. In addition, the WASH Officer will need to interact with schoolteachers, Boards of Management (BOMs), Health Care Facility Management Committees and community members on a regular basis. This will necessitate regular travel to project and programme locations.
