    Business Development Manager - HFDI

    Principle Accountabilities

    Deal Origination (Primary Mandate)

    • Proactively identify and engage landowners, developers, and investors with high-potential assets.
    • Build a strong pipeline of bankable land-based opportunities.
    • Position the organization as a trusted partner in unlocking land value.

    Business Case Development & Financial Structuring

    • Develop robust, data-driven business cases for landowners and partners.
    • Conduct feasibility analysis and financial modelling (returns, cash flows, viability).
    • Structure commercially sound deals that balance profitability, risk, and client value.

    Relationship Management

    • Act as the primary relationship owner for landowners and strategic partners.
    • Build long-term, trust-based relationships with high-value clients.
    • Influence decision-making through credible, insight-led advisory.

    Deal Negotiation & Conversion

    • Lead negotiations on deal structures, commercial terms, and partnerships.
    • Drive opportunities from initial engagement to approval (“greenlight”).

    Stakeholder Management (End-to-End)

    • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across the deal lifecycle.
    • Ensure seamless transition from BD → Project → Sales.

    • Maintain a healthy, trackable pipeline with clear timelines and milestones.

     Lead Generation & Qualification:

    • Local Lead Generation Strategies: Knowledge of effective lead generation strategies within the Kenyan real estate context, including leveraging local networks, industry events, and digital platforms relevant to the Kenyan audience.
    • Qualification & Prioritization: Ability to efficiently qualify leads based on their potential and alignment with the company's goals in the Kenyan market.

    Market Knowledge

    • Understanding Local Regulations: Awareness of Kenyan real estate laws, regulations, and approval processes.
    • Knowledge of Property Types: Understanding the dynamics of different property types prevalent in Nairobi and Kenya (e.g., residential apartments, commercial buildings, land, mixed-use developments).
    • Awareness of Economic Factors: Understanding how local economic conditions, interest rates, and infrastructure development impact the Kenyan real estate market.

    Communication & Presentation

    • Clear & Concise Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and potentially local languages (like Swahili) to build stronger connections within the Kenyan market.
    • Culturally Sensitive Communication: Awareness of local cultural nuances and communication styles to build rapport and avoid misunderstandings.

    Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

    Academic & Professional

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field.
    • Master's degree in a relevant field. Added advantage.
    • Professional certifications such as CPA-K and CIFA are highly recommended.

    Experience

    • 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or a client-facing role within the real estate industry in Kenya.
    • Over 5 years of experience in Corporate/Commercial Banking Relationship Management.
    • Hands-on experience in project management, project coordination of not less than 5 years.
    • Strong relationship management experience preferably managing high net worth clients.
    • Proven experience in structuring and closing real estate transactions and partnerships.
    • Proven and successful ability to lead a group of personnel towards growth in enhanced business growth and enhance revenue generation

    Senior Backend Engineer

    Principle Accountabilities

    Technical Development & Full Stack Versatility

    • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power enterprise platforms.
    • Write clean, efficient, and secure code for various back-end components, services, and integrations.
    • Lead the evolution of existing service applications and ensure seamless integration with internal and external partner ecosystems.

    Quality Assurance Engineer

    Principle Accountabilities

    Test Planning & Execution

    • Produce and manage level test plans, estimating effort and resource requirements for assigned projects.
    • Monitor changes to scope during the development cycle and re-evaluate plans and resources accordingly to mitigate risks to key milestones.
    • Build test scripts from various sources including functional specifications, technical specifications, and collaborative sessions with developers and designers.
    • Execute automated and manual tests, validating results and working with the development team to capture and reuse automated Unit Test Cases, Test Stubs, and Drivers.
    • Manage the UAT process by supporting business users to establish key scenarios that maximize the benefit of UAT, ensuring full acceptance and integration of the software solution

    Automation & Performance Engineering

    • Select and develop appropriate test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium), applying data-driven and risk-driven techniques to maintain automated test suites.
    • Work with the Development team to create and maintain automated nightly build verification (“smoke”) tests and identify system components suitable for automation.
    • Facilitate in-house performance testing ensuring all key infrastructure and data requirements are met using the best tools for the job (e.g., Jmeter).
    • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure key infrastructure (environments, interfaces, and access) is set up to enable all required testing activities.

    Results Tracking, Quality Governance & Reporting

    • Ensure mutual understanding and technical consensus on specifications between business stakeholders, Software Engineers, and Quality Assurance Engineers.
    • Perform manual static testing by reviewing requirements, specifications, and user documentation to assure the quality of products and tests to be developed.
    • Monitor defects raised by the team, challenge their prioritization, and support them through to resolution.
    • Create and maintain manual test repositories and regression test packs, ensuring constant optimization to improve test estimates.
    • Maintain accurate version control and configuration management of all test objects and environments used.
    • Provide accurate task duration estimates and dependencies to leadership, assisting in the preparation of overall test plans, budgets, and schedules.

    Process Improvement & Collaboration

    • Manage local processes and procedures within the test team and across the SDLC to drive efficiency and a high first-time pass rate.
    • Partner with the DevOps team to integrate quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
    • Actively participate in innovation to explore new technologies and their application to the enterprise space.

    Key Competencies and Skills

    • Agile Mastery: Strong understanding of Agile software development.
    • Modern Stack Knowledge: Proficiency in web service integration (REST/SOAP) and familiarity with the Java/Spring Boot, React/Next.js.
    • Database & OS: Strong SQL skills with experience in Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server, and MySQL. Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
    • Automation & DevOps: Good understanding of J2EE architecture, .NET, JavaScript, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git).
    • Infrastructure: Experience with Cloud Technology (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, and containerization.
