    Chief Driver - 5 Positions

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

    1. driving the assigned vehicle
    2. carrying out routine checks on the vehicle's cooling, oil, electrical, tyre pressure and brake systems, etc.
    3. detecting and reporting malfunctioning of the vehicle systems; maintenance of work ticket(s) for vehicle(s) assigned
    4. ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road
    5. overseeing safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and
    6. maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle(s)
    7. In addition, the officer may be required to supervise and guide staff in a small transport unit.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have;

    1. Ten (10) years of driving experience
    2. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    3. passed Occupational Trade Test I for Drivers;
    4. a valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle(s) the officer is required to drive;
    5. Defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    6. A Refresher Course for drivers lasting not less than one (1) week within every three (3) years at Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
    7. a valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police;
    8. attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this level will handle: -

    The Support Staff function will entail undertaking supervision of cleaning and messengerial duties in areas of deployment and undertaking any other related duties.

    Chief Counsellor -12 Positions

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this level be responsible for: -  

    • planning and coordinating counselling programs
    • conducting both individual and group counselling
    • keeping appropriate records
    • identifying employees with social psychological or health related problems; orientation of new employees
    • providing family life education including HIV and AIDS 
    • promotion of ethics in the Service
    • planning organizing and facilitating seminars and workshops on guidance and counselling matters.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

    • Six (6) years of working experience of which three (3) should be in a senior position in Public Service or the Private Sector; 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling OR a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the Social Sciences with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling from a recognized institution;
    • Psychological Debriefing Course lasting not less than one week; 
    • Proficiency in Computer Applications;
    • Registration with the Kenya Counselling Association (KCA).

    Information Communication Technology Officer III - 6 Positions

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this level will be responsible for: -

    1. writing and testing simple computer programs according to instructions and specifications
    2. assisting in the implementation of the computer systems;
    3. providing user support and training of users
    4. repairs and maintenance of ICT equipment and associated peripherals;
    5. monitoring the performance of ICT equipment;
    6. reporting any faults for further action.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade a candidates must have

    1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C plain with at least a C- in mathematics and English /Kiswahili or its approved equivalent.
    2. Diploma in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

    Public Communications Officer II -6 Positions

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this grade will be responsible for: -

    1. gathering information on existing programmes, significant events and the impact on customers and forwarding the same to the head of Department for dissemination.
    2. liaising with media practitioners and the public on issues of mutual concern under the guidance of a senior officer.

    An officer at this grade will be responsible for: -

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this level will be responsible for: 

    1. Facilitating fleet management
    2. Planning office accommodation layout;
    3. Developing and updating of office equipment and furniture inventory
    4. Facilitating meetings, conferences and other special events
    5. Supervising general maintenance of buildings and furniture
    6. Facilitating maintenance and repairs of office equipment;

    Finance Officer III -3 Positions

    Duties and Responsibilities

    An officer at this level will work under a more senior officer.

    Specific duties and responsibilities at this level shall include: -

    1. compiling and formatting financial estimates;
    2. taking initial action on budget monitoring;
    3. preparing reports and briefs on budgetary policy issues.
