    Audio & Video Editor

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in Film Production, Multimedia, Audio Engineering, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree would be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in video and audio editing, with a portfolio showcasing work in both studio interviews and documentary-style settings. Podcast editing experience is a must.

    Social Media Manager

    About this role

    • Manage social media presence across all digital platforms by planning, creating, publishing, monitoring and optimising content that expands audience reach, strengthens engagement and reinforces the organisation’s editorial standards and brand. The Social Media Manager works closely with the editorial, production, partnerships and communications teams to deliver compelling social-first storytelling, drive audience growth, analyse platform performance and support organisational campaigns and initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities.

    Social Media Strategy

    • Execute social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp and emerging digital platforms.
    • Develop platform-specific content plans aligned with editorial priorities, audience needs and organisational objectives.
    • Identify opportunities to increase audience reach, engagement, and community growth across all platforms.
    • Monitor platform updates, algorithm changes and emerging digital trends, recommending improvements where appropriate.
    • Support the implementation of digital campaigns that strengthen visibility and impact.

    Content Planning and Publishing

    • Develop, maintain and manage the social media content calendar.
    • Publish timely, accurate and engaging content across all social media platforms.
    • Write and optimise captions, headlines, hashtags, thumbnails, metadata and platform-specific copy.
    • Adapt editorial stories into social-first formats, including reels, shorts, stories, carousels, graphics and other multimedia content.

    • Work closely with journalists, producers, graphic designers, photographers, and videographers to ensure timely content delivery.

    Analytics, Monitoring and Reporting

    • Monitor social media performance using analytics and reporting tools.
    • Produce regular reports highlighting audience growth, engagement, content performance and campaign effectiveness.
    • Analyse audience behaviour, platform insights and performance trends to recommend. improvements.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare actionable recommendations for continuous optimisation.
    • Monitor website traffic generated from social media channels and evaluate content effectiveness.

    Brand Management and Compliance

    • Ensure all social media content reflects Willow Health Media’s editorial standards, values and brand voice.
    • Maintain consistency across all platforms.
    • Support campaigns, partnerships and organisational initiatives through effective social media execution.
    • Uphold accuracy, fairness and ethical journalism in all digital communications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media or a related field.
    • At least 3 years’ experience managing social media for a media organisation, digital publisher, NGO or communications agency.
    • Proven experience growing and managing multiple social media platforms.
    • Strong understanding of platform algorithms, analytics and audience development.
    • Excellent writing, editing and copywriting skills.
    • Experience using social media scheduling, monitoring and analytics tools.
    • Experience with basic graphic design and short-form video editing is an added advantage.
    • Strong editorial judgement.

    Production Assistant

    About this role

    • Support the Audio-Visual Department in planning, coordinating and executing multimedia productions across Willow Health Media’s programmes, podcasts, social media platforms, website and special projects. The Production Assistant provides administrative, logistical and production support throughout the production cycle from pre-production to post-production, to ensure projects are delivered efficiently on schedule and in accordance with editorial, technical and brand standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Production Coordination

    Post-Production Support

    • Organise and catalogue footage, photographs, audio files, graphics and other production assets.
    • Ensure proper file naming, transfer, backup and archiving of production materials.
    • Monitor editing progress and coordinate internal review sessions.
    • Prepare production notes, edit logs and supporting documentation for editors.
    • Assist in preparing subtitle files, thumbnails, metadata and publishing assets for digital platforms.

    Administrative Support

    • Maintain production calendars, project trackers and content schedules.
    • Organise production documents, contracts, invoices, approvals and related records.
    • Assist in coordinating freelancers, suppliers, service providers and production vendors.
    • Support budget monitoring by recording production expenses and maintaining expenditure records.
    • e) Prepare meeting minutes, action points, production reports and follow-up documentation.

    Quality Assurance and Compliance

    • Verify that all required consent forms and production documentation are complete and properly filed.

    • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, ethical standards and organisational production procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, or related field with at least one-year relevant experience post-internship.
    • Diploma or certificate in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, or related field with at least 2 years relevant experience post-internship.
    • Experience supporting field productions and coordinating multiple production activities will be an added advantage.
    • Experience working with NGOs, in health journalism, development organisations, or media organisations is desirable.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
    • Good organisational, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
    • Familiarity with digital asset management systems and cloud-based storage platforms.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Graphics Designer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and produce high-quality visual communication materials that support the organisation's programmes, campaigns, events, publications, and digital presence.
    • Ensure consistency in the application of the organisation's brand identity across all communication materials and platforms.
    • Contribute creative ideas and visual concepts that enhance storytelling and audience engagement.

    Graphic Design and Content Production

    • Design creative assets for social media platforms, websites, digital campaigns, presentations, reports, newsletters, publications, and promotional materials.

    • Optimise graphics and visual content for different digital platforms and audience needs

     Motion Graphics and Multimedia Support

    • Conceptualise and develop motion graphics, animated explainers, title sequences, lower thirds, and other visual elements for video productions.
    • Collaborate with videographers, producers, and content creators to develop engaging multimedia content.
    • Support video production workflows through the creation of graphic assets, visual effects, and animation elements where required.

    Creative Planning and Collaboration

    • Participate in content planning meetings and contribute creative direction for campaigns, stories, documentaries and communication initiatives.
    • Work closely with communication, programmes and production teams to translate technical information into visually engaging content.
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting agreed timelines and quality standards.

    Innovation and Quality Assurance

    • Continuously seek innovative ways to improve visual storytelling and audience engagement.
    • Review and quality-check all design outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to organisational standards.
    • Stay updated on emerging design trends, technologies, tools and best practices relevant to digital communications and media production.

    Other Responsibilities

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or a Diploma in Graphic Design or a related field.
    • Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in graphics design.
    • Membership with the Media Council of Kenya is an added advantage.
