    Accountant

    REF.NO: HEA ACC-01/2023 

    SUMMARY

    The position is responsible for processing of day to day accounting transactions in a timely manner in line with professional standards and the policies, procedures, structures and systems of the organization.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Facilitate timely reimbursement of HQ petty cash through tallying, expenses allocation in the system and raising of payment voucher.
    • In liaison with programme accountants, facilitate processing of HQ requisitions and issuance of purchase orders.
    • Attend all procurement committee meetings and draft minutes.
    • Carry out trial balance analysis to guarantee correctness of the balances, coding and transaction management.
    • Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable.
    • Managing stationery.
    • Ensuring timely HQ bank and petty cash reconciliation.
    • Maintain proper filing system and management of all auditable documents.
    • Timely data input of HQ transactions in the system.
    • Raise journal vouchers to correct data in the system.
    • Manage sending and receiving of postage from and dispatch of mail and parcels to Branches
    • Close monitoring and follow up of imprest advanced to head office staff and ensure they are surrendered on time.
    • Assist in internal and external audit processes and provide audit requests. .
    • Maintain safe use and custody of passwords for computerized accounting systems.
    • Maintain safe and proper record keeping by filling source documents, vouchers and any other supporting accounting documents for future references.
    • Undertake any other assignment as may be directed by the Supervisor from time to time

    Specifications

    • CPA Part II completed.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
    • Working knowledge of computerized accounting and other computer application packages and proficiency in ICT applications including MS Office, Internet and e-mail.
    • High level of integrity to be able to handle assets, cash and cash related transactions.
    • Good interpersonal skills and a strong team player with ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds.
    • Good analytical skills, attention to details, and able to scrutinize payment supporting documents before effecting payment.
    • Basic auditing skills
    • Good communication and report writing skills with good spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
    • Good organizing skills and able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Good problem solving skills.

    Digital Marketing Coordinator

    REF NO: HEA DMC-01/2023

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Building the capacity of HiH EA staff in supporting micro, medium and small entrepreneurs through delivering digital literacy modules.
    • Coordinate and deliver digital literacy coaching and mentorship sessions to trained MSMEs.
    • Scope and identify appropriate platforms for digital marketing.
    • Supervise and train interns to execute one on one digital support for members (Maintaining active social media pages, member page analytics review).
    • Carry out analytics on digital marketing trends and opportunities Content development and publishing of member’s goods and services.
    • Measuring and reporting on performance of all digital marketing campaigns.
    • Support MSMEs adopt and use digital solutions and tools in their enterprises.
    • Provide periodical digital literacy training reports as required Monitor, review and document program progress of MSMEs through the implementation process.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

    Specifications

    • Diploma in Marketing or Business administration with demonstrable experience in Information Technology. 
    • At least one years’ experience working with business management related ICT/ digital tools.
    • Experience in content creation and data analysis.
    • Exemplary ICT skills coupled working knowledge of business management software has and related digital tools/solutions.
    • Knowledge on apps and software development will be an added advantage.
    • Training and facilitation skills with ability to work with diverse business audiences at a group and individual level.

    Business Relationship Trainee (6 Posts)

    REF. NO: HEA BRT-01/2023

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Create general awareness of HiH EA operations activities in assigned areas of operation through promotion and outreach.
    • Select, identify and recruit potential groups/members in accordance with the established operations policy.
    • Mobilize, form and attend group meetings and ensure groups are cohesive and sustainable in line with HiH EA requirements.
    • Ensure collection of member personal information and fully filled registration form (bio data tool).
    • Facilitate group/member selection, group formation and general group and member management.
    • Training of groups on the HiH EA model.
    • Appraise group/member on level of access to credit and remit the applications to the relevant approval persons/bodies.
    • Process and disburse loans and ensure continuous follow-up for timely loan repayment/recovery.
    • Prepare and submit daily, monthly, semi-annual and annual reports in a timely manner
    • Provide clients with post loan extension services.
    • In consultation with the Branch Manager, collaborate with government agencies and local NGO’s for the benefit of both the clients and the programme.
    • Represent HiH EA in the designated area, including representation in local development committees; and participate in relevant forums whenever nominated such as government, community and other stakeholder forums.
    • Participate and assist in monitoring and evaluation including supporting field activities, provision of data and information, adoption of findings and recommendations, documentation of case studies, experiences and lessons and adoption best practices.   
    • Create and nurture effective working relationship with stakeholders; beneficiaries, local community, partners, service providers, collaborators, relevant government agencies etc.
    • Maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with policy and procedures in implementation of activities in the assigned area.
    • Ensure proper documentation and maintain adequate records for all activities through maintenance of proper and effective filling system.  
    • Keep assigned HiH EA assets such as equipment, tools and motor cycle in good working condition and report any breakdown and damages to the Branch Manager in a timely manner.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

    Specifications

    • Diploma or higher qualification in any of the following areas: Community Development, Social Sciences, Agri-business Cooperative, Micro Finance, Marketing, Business Management, Administration, Commerce or related field.
    • Strong conceptual and practical understanding of peri-rural development and financing.
    • Passion and ability to work with marginalized rural and peri-urban communities.
    • Positive attitude and high level of integrity and good team player.
    • Demonstrated initiative, good and consistent performance.
    • Good interpersonal, public relations and community mobilization skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships and profitable networks, and work with people of diverse backgrounds at the local community level.
    • Computer literate – good knowledge in MS Office applications an added advantage.
    • Self-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Good team orientation. 
    • Good planning and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multitask and follow instructions.
    • Good communication skills and working knowledge of English, Kiswahili.
    • License and experience to ride a motor bike is an added advantage.
