    Overall Responsibility

    The successful candidate will have an overall responsibility of achieving efficiency through provision of good quality meals within the approved budget while maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer satisfaction.

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Planning menus in consultation with the Nutrition Department.
    2. Plan and coordinate all aspects of catering, including service activities and sanitation responsibilities.
    3. Supervise kitchen staff and ensure high quality service standards and presentations are met.
    4. Organizing staff rota to meet service needs.
    5. Ensuring that health and safety regulations are strictly observed, recorded and archived.
    6. Maintain and upgrade strict hygiene and sanitation practices and levels.

    SACCO Manager

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Reporting to Management Committee, the Sacco Manager will have the following duties;

    1. Provide oversight to the SACCO operations and offer technical assistance to the SACCO Management Committee.
    2. Develop necessary policy documents and regulations that would ensure smooth operations of the SACCO according to the set guidelines.
    3. Ensure that all SACCO data and information is well documented and archived.
    4. Monitor the operations of the SACCO and ensure that all set targets are attained within the set timelines.

    Qualification and Requirements.

    1. A Business related Degree.
    2. CPA K/ACCA
    3. Minimum of three years working experience in a busy financial institution preferably within the Co-operative Movement.
    4. Diploma in Co-operative Management will be an added advantage. Combined knowledge in General Management/Administration as well as Accounting.
    5. Good communication skills both oral and written.

    Laundry Attendant

    Overall Responsibility

    Reporting to the House Keeping Supervisor, the Laundry Attendant job exists to provide laundry services including operating washing or dry-cleaning machines to clean, dry, press and fold cloth-ware at the Hospital.

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Prepare work-plans and schedules, allocate work to laundry staff and set laundry production
    2. Receive or collect used up linen for cleaning and record or classify it according to its sources from different wards and units of the hospital.
    3. Sort and classify and mark or tag dirty linen according to its source in the hospital, type, color and maintenance specifications for laundering.
    4. Determine spotting procedures and proper solvents, detergents and other cleaning materials based on fabric and stain types in the laundry unit.
    5. Operate and maintain washer, dryer, dry cleaning machine.
    6. Report any technical problems or deficiencies to manager or maintenance team.
    7. Use other cleaning procedures to clean and dry non-dry-cleanable linen in the laundry unit of the hospital.
    8. Collect cleaned and dried up linen, sort, press and pack according to its source and type.

    Qualification and Requirements.

    1. Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry services
    2. Minimum of one years’ experience in a similar environment
    3. Computer literacy
    4. Resilient and self-motivated.

    Ambulance Driver

    General Description

    Responsible for safe transportation of patients and caregivers in a timely manner, and maintenance of ground ambulance equipment and consumables

    Duties and Responsibilities shall include:

    1. Driving and maintaining the ambulance in a good condition and reporting any mechanical problems arising.
    2. Performing daily routine checks on the ambulance (tires, oil, fuel, water, sirens, emergency lights)
    3. Checking and confirming presence and proper functioning of ambulance medical equipment.
    4. Smooth handling and transportation of patients.
    5. Transport equipment, documents, and office supplies as required.
    6. Assist in the loading and unloading of patients onto the ambulance.
    7. Assisting in changing soiled linen on stretcher.
    8. Administering first aid as required.
    9. May assist to restraint violent patients if necessary.
    10. Maintaining cleanliness of the Ambulance;
    11. Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor

    Job Requirements

    1. Possess a valid driving License.
    2. Emergency Medical Technician Training Certification
    3. First Aid Certification.
    4. Good understanding of the laws governing ambulance services
    5. At least one year experience in a similar role.
    6. Certified for class BCE
    7. A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from Kenya Police

    Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer

    Overall Responsibility

    The successful candidate will be expected to Implement, Manage and Monitor Systems to ensure quality Clinical Laboratory Practice; and ensure that procedures adhere to safety and compliance rules and regulations.

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Establish and maintain the Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS)
    2. Monitor QA activities of the laboratory to determine conformity with authorized policies, procedures and governing regulations; make appropriate recommendations for correction and improvement as necessary.
    3. Providing leadership and guidance on relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
    4. Defining the quality systems and operational standards, and applying them to monitor and improve the quality of laboratory services.
    5. Offering guidance to the Laboratory team in developing and documenting appropriate policies, processes and procedures for their activities.
    6. Ensuring a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good clinical laboratory practices and applicable regulations.
    7. Reviewing documentation periodically to ensure conformance of laboratory service delivery
    8. Coordinating internal audits of the laboratory and ensuring participation in relevant proficiency testing schemes.
    9. Responsible for training Laboratory staff in quality systems and applications.
    10. Monitor sample packaging, shipping, handling and storage activities.
    11. Monitor performance of QA and QC audits.
    12. Provide oversight of performance evaluation analysis.
    13. Provide monthly laboratory quality assurance reports.

    Qualification and Requirements.

    1. Higher Diploma/Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences
    2. Must be registered by Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board with a current practicing license
    3. Knowledge of GCLP, ISO 15189:2012 standards
    4. Knowledge in Quality Management systems, Laboratory operation and procedures.
    5. A certificate of Good Conduct

    Claims and Billing Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Review of patient information on the system.
    2. Smart Billing; It is the responsibility of the officer to ensure all corporate clients are invoiced on smart without fail, and that off smart is authorized for clients without smart cards.
    3. Co-pay or Co-charge; It is the responsibility of the officer to ensure all clients subject to various co-pay amounts are charged and that the payment reflect or is deducted from their bills.
    4. Bills: It is the responsibility of the officer to ensure that the bills that are due for printing are free of frauds and errors.
    5. Insurance preauthorization; It is the duty of the officer to ensure insurances are notified of all admissions as and when they happen.
    6. Insurance Communications: It is the responsibility of the officer to always update herself or himself of any changes communicated from contracted insurances.
    7. Client verification; It is the responsibility of the officer to ensure that the front office team properly verifies validity of clients’ insurance cards before service is rendered.
    8. Daily Summary Report; It is the duty of the officer to generate daily sales summary report for both cash and corporate clients.

    Job Requirements

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from a recognized institution.
    2. Computer literate
    3. Knowledge and experience in bookkeeping
    4. CPA or related qualification
    5. Communication skills

    Psychologist Intern

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Assessing a client's needs, abilities or behaviour using a variety of methods, including psychometric tests, interviews and direct observation of behaviour

    General Description

    Duties and Responsibilities shall include but not limited to

    1. Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
    2. Maintains nursing guidelines by following the laid down Standard Nursing Policies and procedures.
    3. Adhere to duty Rosters and Patient Allocation; Assess, Plan and implement nursing care using the Nursing process framework.
    4. Maintain the nursing ethos as prescribed in the Nurses’ Act Cap 257 of the Laws of Kenya and the Hospital regulations.
    5. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
    6. Maintain a therapeutic environment with other health and non-health professionals to uplift multi-disciplinary team spirit.

    Optometrist

    Purpose:

    To examine eyes and visual system, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment. May prescribe therapeutic drugs to treat specific eye conditions.

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Provide outpatient care for patients with eye-related disorders and conditions
    2. Conduct routine eye examinations, including visual field tests
    3. Determine each patient’s visual acuity, field of vision and hand-eye coordination
    4. Take detailed medical histories for all patients, including current and past prescription medications
    5. Evaluate eye-related symptoms, such as discharge, redness and inflammation
    6. Prescribe corrective lenses when required
    7. Refer patients to board-certified ophthalmologists when required for more holistic eye care
    8. Educate patients on proper eye care
    9. Identify eye health safety factors that could impact vision, such as working around chemicals or in front of a computer
    10. Advise patients about proper eye hygiene and care.
    11. Review and update Standard Operating Procedures and Policies for the Eye clinic department
    12. Review and update budget for Eye clinic department.

    Job Requirements

    1. A degree/diploma holder in Optometry from a recognized institution
    2. Licensed Optometrist
    3. 2 years of experience
    4. ICT literate
    5. Ability to multitask

    Receptionist Intern

    General Description

    1. Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or health care professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
    2. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

    Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors.
    2. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make follow-up appointments.
    3. Receive and make telephone calls as required.
    4. Advice patients of relevant charges for relevant medical services, show direction to the next station that the client would wish to be served.
    5. Ensure that all patients’ information is registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately.
    6. It is the responsibility of the receptionist to ensure that client on the Outpatient register are transferred to the Inpatient register before close of business each day.
    7. It is the responsibility of the receptionist to ensure that preauthorization are filled and ensure communication is made to insurance companies for pre-authorization and discharge of patients, immediately you are in receipt of either an inpatient insurance covered clients preauthorization or a discharge summary.
    8.  The receptionist will be in charge of ensuring that NHIF are filled by clients who are eligible and filled copies forwarded to the Records personnel.
    9. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
    10. Keep a register of doctors’ who have reported to work against the duty rota and forward the report to HR.

    It is the responsibility of the receptionist to keep checking on the hospital email to track responses from insurances companies on preauthorization sent and keep the client informed.
